Which two Republicans have the strongest grassroots followings?

  • Ron Paul & Mike Huckabee (heavy evangelical support)

Which two Republicans are being snubbed in the debates and now by the media?
  • Ron Paul & Now Mike Huckabee

Which two Republicans are raising oodles of money online?

Now I disagree with Huckabee on the following:
  • Staying in Iraq until we can "leave with honor"
  • Giving scholarships to illegal aliens in the school system
  • Putting a "surcharge on the income tax" and raising taxes :p
  • Wanting to ban smoking
  • Overuse of religion in his campaiging
  • Excessive joking around in a serious campaign (though I think Ron Paul doesn't joke around enough)
  • Starting up ties with the Council of Foreign Relations (see YouTube)

However, in all fairness, I also disagree with Ron Paul on the following:
  • I give the American people much less credit than Ron Paul does. Ron Paul thinks they're smart enough to digest what he's saying. I think most are just stupid
  • Also I hate chocolate chip cookies (I'm fat enough)

Now here are things I like about Huckabee (keep reading - MIND OPEN!!)
  • Pledging to immediately build the border fence
  • Agreeing with Ron Paul that 100 years in Iraq is far too long (He said this at the last debate)
  • Wanting to end the IRS (though Huckabee wants a fair tax to replace it)
  • The many talking points he's copied from Ron Paul (Yes it takes away from Ron Paul's support but that is politics, and maybe he's copying because he agrees with the points)

So where am I going with this? Well.....(remember, mind open!!!).....I'd be okay with a Vice President Huckabee.....(Think about that for a second. Wouldn't that be the most natural pick?).....Also, I think many Huckabee supporters would be okay with a Vice President Paul for the very same reasons.....So.....What if we did some clever politicking to leverage this?

What if (after giving this heavy thought) Huckabee and Ron Paul publicly announced each other as running mates? The deal would be whoever has more delegates at the convention becomes President, and the other becomes VP. If done correctly (and with a lot of publicity) Huckabee and Paul could destroy McCain (Romney already wasted 10% of his family fortune and will drop out after Feb 5th).

This would give Ron Paul a guarantee of getting into the White House (either as President or as VP) and our only competition would be with Huckabee's grassroots for the #1 slot! This competition would turn friendly and frankly, I'd enjoy competing with them :)

Now that you've read that (hopefully with an open mind), the poll question is: "Would this strategy greatly increase both Ron Paul & Huckabee's chances for the White House?"

Not a bad idea. How about RP automatically becomes the president for one four year term because he's much older and then agrees to turn things over to Huckabee.

I think having a vice president that is friends with a group like the CFR is a bad idea. That's the same mistake that President Reagan made when he allowed George Bush Sr. be the VP.

A Billion Yeahs!!!!!!!!

Huckabee is another Bildaberger, and is a pro North American Partnership Bildaberger.

Great insight.

Mike Huckabee is a member of the CFR and that kills it for me right there.

That means that he will say one thing and then have to do another when/if he
takes office. It means he's been bought and paid for. It means he's a shill for
the New World Order. It means that most of what he says are total lies just
made up to garner the support of a particular demographic. It means he has
no problems working with AND FOR the very worst kinds of communists,
marxists, and socialists. It means that no matter what he says or does in the
temporary term that he is indeed proactive in supporting a very similar brand
of eugenics as we study about in Germany during the 1920's ~ 1940"s.

Either ALL of that or it means that he is so utterly careless with his thoughts
(ie. is stupid), allegiances and integrity that one may compare him to the
lowest of barnyard animals and indeed find in favor of the animal.

Either way, his name IMO, does not belong on the same server as Ron Paul's
let alone placed into any similar categorization for advertisement purposes or
any other reason.

Yours truly,
Prof. Openminded

we could use huckabee for this election and in 4 years drop him for another vice-prez. It would not be the first time a president ran with a new vp for his second term.

A pro-constitutionalist should never work with a globalist! Period. Their goals would be totally opposed to one another's. Once again, I remind the people who read this thread: that's the same mistake Pres. Reagan made with Bush Sr.

Yeah, if Ron chose such a running mate I would drop all support for him immediately!
I have no doubts whatsoever that Ron would never consider such a thing - ever!

It would additionally guarantee Ron Paul's certain assassination. See the early 60's (LBJ).

That's absolutely right Tesselator! JFK wanted to abolish the Federal Reserve, the CIA, etc. (just like RP wants to). Well, LBJ was greatly opposed to JFK's plan, and look what happened to him!

People who think Huckabee for VP is a good idea are clueless.

The problem with idealists is their inability to compromise... "all or nothing" mentality often rewards you with "nothing" when it comes to politics. If RP could influence the White House... imagine what good would come of it. Huckabee wouldn't have him as a running mate either, however.

You are missing a point - if they were to do that, McCain would still win because people would vote for Huckabee thinking he will pick R.P. and people will vote for R.P. thinking he will pick Huckabee and neither will win. For it to work - one of the two would have to drop out to leave the other to take over for the two.

Yup, And if you listen to E. Howard Hunt's death bed confession now in the public/private
media stream - It was LBJ himself calling allot of the shots and knowing about, allowing,
and even organizing parts of the JFK hit.

--
And for others reading this. No, that's not a kooky "conspiracy theory". It's what E.
Howard Hunt (who we know worked for the CIA and organized the Bay of Pigs and
many other international covert operations) said to his son St. John Hunt on both
video and audio tape in his last few weeks of life (about 8 months ago now I guess).
So, it's not some extrapolated and wild ideas. It's what the man said happened.

I can totally understand the logic in your argument, but Huckabee does not have a lot in common with Ron Paul other than their base of support. Huckabee isn't quite as bad as McCain but he's close. He has some neo-con views and some liberal views. Most of all I don't want Huckabee associated with Ron Paul because Huckabee has a pretty dirty "rap sheet". Imagine having Bill Clinton as a running mate.

sorry ronpaulfan - that's a terrible combination!
what the hell are you thinking?

Huckabee wants to end the IRS?!

Oh... well, why didn't he just say so during his 47% tax increase as Tax Hike Mike.

Huckabee is an imposter.
Ron Paul is for real.
Big difference.

It's sounds nice to say "lower taxes..." but most of us here do our homework.

"Beware the promises of liars."

And that's just one issue.

completely clueless. Huckabee is a boob. He knows shit about foreign policy. A border fence is a bad idea and RP said so. He voted for the bill IN SPITE of the fence provision, not because of it.

Huck is almost retarded. No more Arkansas governors anywhere near the whitehouse.

Compromise always favors evil over good. There is no compromise where an evil concept does not succeed in replacing a noble one, but the good only prevails wheresoever it triumphs totally.

Principled thinking is ultimately a result of logical thinking, and the only guardian we have against the gradual loss of freedom via compromise after compromise.

Compromise is fine and beneficial in arbitrary matters, but never in the realm of ethics, to which politics is and ought to be subservient.
