The campaign said that Ron Paul was declining the invitation to speak at CPAC this year because he was going to be campaigning in Maine.

But Rand Paul is speaking at CPAC this afternoon and Ron is at home in Texas! He could be speaking at CPAC right now!

What is going on here???

I have no idea. He doesn't appear to be taking it seriously. It's cool. Rand is grooming his future and Ron's devoted supporters are walking the streets of Maine instead. Hopefully they could afford food after making donations to the campaign that they couldn't afford.

Roj said on CNN just moments ago that he didn't show at cpac because his youth supporters are all over campaigning. Ron speaking at cpac was a missed opportunity for free media coverage. He is not in Maine and he. Not at CPAC.

I always disagreed with turning down CPAC, even with the assumption he was going to be campaigning. Now it's even worse. He needs all the free media he can get.

You people who are offering "constructive criticism" don't have any experience in campaigns. Respectfully, I trust the judgement of Dr. Paul and his people far more.

I was talking about Maine.

What do you say of the argument that it's too late to make a big difference because Mainers started voting last week and now going Friday won't make a big difference if you're already visiting on Saturday?

But:

The campaign said that Ron Paul was declining the invitation to speak at CPAC this year because he was going to be campaigning in Maine.

Ron wouldn't tell a lie.

Does the man have to work all day every day? I saw a video of him introducing a bill in congress a few weeks ago in the middle of a campaign. He can rest every now and then.

pointing out the fact that Ron Paul isn't currently in maine when we already know the schedule, to the online grassroots isn't going to do anything. We're just filling the first page with crap discussions when we could be talking about actual strategy.

That information should have been known before declining the CPAC conference. Right?

Rest? What the hell is rest? If he has to rest, then could you imagine what being President would be like? President Paul, China is invading. Oh don't wake the President now he has to rest....he can rest on the private jet our money has been funding. He can rest in a Holiday Inn in Maine somewhere. Why is he is TX though? Furthermore, if was to get the nomination, there would no rest until the white house. Better get used to it.

I would make the argument that every vote counts and you shouldn't take a single day for granted assuming it won't make a difference when you look at the margin between 1st and 2nd in Iowa. It may be different as the caucuses are spread out, but that margin is haunting and heads will roll if he loses by anything close to that.

It wouldn't make a difference because we don't want our people doing phone from home and volunteering to feel like they have to go to CPAC and drop the important things they're doing.
