Read between the lines of this controversial statement:
The Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Adel al-Jubeir, said that Turkey knows very well that it is incapable of betraying the Syrian opposition with such ease, questioning the sudden and unexpected shift of attitude adopted recently by the Turkish Prime Minister.

“He [Turkish PM] is aware that Turkey is vulnerable to be divided by the Kurds; making such a fatal mistake will probably lead Turkey to collapse”.

Al-Jubeir’s remarks came as he held, yesterday, bilateral meetings with US Secretary of State John Kerry and National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

“Under the current circumstances, Turkey cannot afford being attacked by the Turkish opposition forces. Unlike the Syrian armed opposition which is capable of overthrowing Syria’s Assad and standing against the Turks”, he added.

Part of the military is attempting a coup in Turkey, the country’s Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said, following reports of military jets and helicopters flying low over Ankara and Istanbul.

"Some people took illegal action outside of the chain of command," Yildirim told news network NTV. "The government elected by the people remains in charge. This government will only go when the people say so," he added.

A military helicopter has reportedly opened fire in the district of Ankara where the Turkish National Intelligence Organization headquarters is situated.

Round the world and home again
That’s the sailor’s way
Faster faster, faster faster
There’s no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There’s no knowing where we’re rowing
Or which way the river’s flowing
Is it raining, is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing
Is the grisly reaper mowing
Yes, the danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they’re certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing

Probably is a good coup. Erodgan is an islamist and the Turkish military is secular. This will benefit both Russian and US interests, so expect it to stick.

I thought this would happen. Erdogan made enemies with everyone he could US, Russia, EU.

No wonder Kerry went to Russia ASAP we problem learned of this early.

Learned of, more likely sponsored and maybe with Russian assistance too.

Ergodan just Skype'ed into CNN Turkey and said he is "heading back to the capitol", "the people should go out on the streets to respond", and "those who did this will pay"

To be clear, he is asking people to attack the military. Not a smart thing to say.
