I know Minnesota is Bachmann and Pawlenty territory; but Jesse Ventura was Governor there, and he loves Ron Paul.

Is there any way that former Gov. Jesse Ventura could help us be competitive in Minnesota?

What were Jesse Ventura's poll numbers like at the end of his term? Do people still like him there? It seems like Minnesota might be possible to win if they elected a guy like Ventura.

As an outspoken truther, Jesse Ventura is politically radioactive and the campaign should do everything it can to distance itself from him.

Even if he could help in Minnesota, it's really not worth it as it's a relatively small state in terms of delegates and doesn't vote early enough in the primary season to likely make a real difference in the outcome.

In a general election, maybe. Definitely not in a GOP primary though.

he cares more about surfing in mexico than getting involved in politics (he said this nearly verbatim during his last interview with alex jones). Additionally he said that we would know he would be returning to politics again when we saw him with a shaved head.

His speech during the Rally was very passionate "I'll be watching" but ultimately it isn't happening.

Oh, right. I forgot all about that truther nonsense.

...Still, an endorsement is an endorsement. But you're likely correct in suggesting we not get too buddy-buddy with him. He is a tad uncontrollable in his speech. It's what makes him (to borrow a thought from Charles Krauthammer) both a "provocateur and clown" like Donald Trump.

Jesse is not someone you can count on politically. If he wishes to endorse RP fine but to try and make use of him in Minnesota would not serve RP's interests. Myself and those who in or close to Minnesota will tell you the same.

He can go about it in a roundabout way...just bash Obama when we are up against him in the general election. :)

Obama is not who we need to be bashing. If it comes down to Obama vs Paul, we'll win that easily. We need him to bash Bachmann. If you're bashing somebody from your own state, then they must really be bad! I bet if you surveyed people in MN, they'd have a more favorably view of Ventura than Bachmann. We need Bachmann out of the race because we'd take so much support from her base.

That's a good point. Reminding people that her record doesn't match her rhetoric might do the trick.

Yes. Exactly what I was thinking. Plus, Ventura has a national audience so it could help us even outside Minnesota.

...though we must remember, he is fairly unpredictable once given then mic.

Ventura is a nut job. But, a honest nuts person apparently makes a better governor than an evil intelligent person.

I'd agree with that. He just makes an ass out of himself for money these days. He probably smokes a lot of weed.

While Jesse understands the pivotal issues just as Alex, Sheriff Mack and others do, for the interests of the GOP primary, I agree that Ron Paul needs to distance himself from the macro-level issues and focus on the mainstream topics.

I agree with the previous poster. He would help Ron by bashing the other candidates. It would be better if he endorsed Ron Paul indirectly.

Jesse would never endorse a democrat or republican. Doesn't matter who they are.
