Could a bitcoin crash wreck the economy?

Won't happen. I'm not even convinced the US government holds what they claim to.

I agree that the govt is totally against using gold as currency. But the people will if the currency hyperinflates. So it's going to be a battle to see who wins.

I don't think anyone gives a flip about bitcoin except bitcoin nerds. Joe Blow doesn't have any and won't be affected if it burns to the ground.
