Corporatism - The New Aristocracy

Sure somebody could have competed with Standard Oil with an alternative fuel or some new invention. Monopolies that are not government imposed ALWAYS break down over time and it is a falsehood to think that they rape consumers on profits cause if they do then investors would be quick to get a competitor going.

Socialism is an aristocracy, it has a hierarchy system for who runs what. Corporations are only bad when government get involved. What was so wrong with Standard Oil? The reduced cost of refined oil that could be cheaply sold to the American people? Yeah, real evil…

Andrew Carnegie's railroad business was helped by the government because they gave the railroads a checkerboard pattern acre of land for every mile they built. Andrew Carnegie gave away most of his fortune to building libraries and schools across the world. Yeah, real evil…

Of course the government can favor companies but they can also separate them. So, how can the railroads be done in a efficient way if private companies don't need to get chartered? Not like any other company can compete otherwise you'd need more tracks going the same route. Btw, who's the one that stepped in to stop the outrageous railroad shipping rates because it was cloaked with public interest?

One of the great stories about railroads is that of James J. Hill.
