Regarding the student's opinion of Ron Paul's views on the DREAM Act, birth-right citizenship, and welfare...

That doesn’t sit too well with Cornell’s aptly named DREAM Team, a student organization created to support undocumented students and the recent recipients of the James A. Perkins Prize for Interracial Understanding and Harmony. As ambassadors for interracial understanding and harmony, the group plans to protest Paul by, you know, throwing things at the candidate because they don’t like what he has to say.

According to the article a school club is planning some sort of protest at the Cornell rally. Either throwing pillows, wearing pajamas, or handing out flyers.. The tone of the article is over the top sarcastic, so I can't tell if it's serious or not. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone planning to attend the rally at Cornell.

I hope they stick around and listen to what he has to say, they might learn something.

EDIT: I've misspelled Cornell - if a mod could edit the title to add the missing "L" at the end, I'd appreciate it. (obvious why I couldn't get in!)

They might be surprised, that if they just speak out, instead of throwing shit, they might not getting dragged off in handcuffs by 20 cops because our guy, unlike other politicians, will probably let them speak and have a discussion.

So the Dream Team does not mind having tuition that increases 8-12% every year or so and lack of space in classes?

People like the Dream Team is exactly why I left the democrats... However, there are groups in the GOP that makes me barf as well.

Bleeding heart liberals.

Yep.

Ron is a fantastic guy. To treat him in such regard shows BIG TIME ignorance.

Indeed, hope they stick around long enough to hear what he actually says as opposed to the MSM talking points that have been tagged on to him. Hard to be a single issue voter when you starting paying attention to how much each issue effects everything else.

He's been protested before. Obots clearly don't want him to be seen as the champion chosen by youth and want a counternarrative to his rally.

As somebody who will be attending this event, I forwarded our concerns to Edward King, the national coordinator of Youth for Ron Paul, who is hosting the event. I'm sure the campaign will be prepared to handle all distractions!

LOL. That should be good. Remember what happened to the "Occupy" guy that tried to protest Paul? Ron killed him with kindness and finding common ground.

I suspect he'd find common ground with the "DREAMERS" as well.

This is why I support Ron Paul, he is not pandering to protesters, he's simply letting them exercise their free speech and giving them a respectful reply.

That's why I try not to be too disrespectful to those I engage here in debate (well there are a few folks on my ignore list) even when I feel as if they are either deliberately lying to me or simply not bothering to read what I write and reply instead to whatever it is they pretend I said in order to push their agenda.

And that's why I actually like having some here with dissenting opinions, so long as they aren't being deliberately insulting or advocating things that could get people in trouble for agreeing with them.

It's good for me to be challenged by others with strong convictions that they are right and I am wrong, it forces me to be vigalent in my own mind against mistakes and irrationalities I might make or have.

Good move! I just hope everyone in attendance knows they just need a little education, not intimidation.

Have fun at the rally and give us a full report!!

Don't count on winning over people here illegally who are looking at it as their ticket to legalization and college funding. there is such a thing as having a stake in the argument.

Nah, they'd don't mind; it's not like they pay their own tuition.
