Her whole story is very interesting.

On March 24, cannabis oil activist Shona Banda‘s life was flipped upside-down after her son was taken from her by the State of Kansas. The ordeal started when police and counselors at her 11-year-old son’s school conducted a drug education class. Her son, who had previously lived in Colorado for a period of time, disagreed with some of the anti-pot points that were being made by school officials. “My son says different things like my ‘Mom calls it cannabis and not marijuana.’ He let them know how educated he was on the facts,” said Banda in an exclusive interview with BenSwann.com. Banda successfully treated her own Crohn’s disease with cannabis oil.

She's on FB. She needs help. She, at least, deserves as much help as the pizzeria owner.

They're obviously trying to make an example of her and send a message, they set the court date on April 20th (420).

KANSAS POLICE SHUTDOWN CANNABIS OIL ACTIVIST’S FACEBOOK TO PREVENT HER FROM RAISING MONEY FOR HER LEGAL DEFENSE

The Garden City Police Department had cannabis oil activist Shona Banda’s Facebook account shutdown because she was using her social media network to raise money for her legal defense after the police raided her home and took her 11 year-old son into custody, all because he vocally disagreed with anti-cannabis propaganda that his school counselors were teaching in his classroom.
The GoFundMe account Shona is using to raise money was actually set up at her request, by Wichita activist Jennifer Winn and Kansas Exposed editor Mike Shatz.

Police and DCF in Garden City KS deny cannabis activist entry into her own home.

This is ridiculous, this is bad, this is evil.
What if he had disagreed with his teacher on President Obama or the war in the mid-east or anything else under the sun?
Could the State still seize him away from his Mom?

Yesterday Shona Banda, the Kansas medical marijuana activist whose home was searched after her 11-year-old son challenged anti-pot propaganda at school, failed to regain custody of the boy, who is now under the control of Child Protective Services (CPS). "I am not giving up," Banda said after yesterday's family court hearing. "I will get him, and I am not going to stop until I do."

The Garden City Police Department, which conducted the search of Banda's home, insists that the state-sanctioned kidnapping is in the boy's best interest. "The most important thing here is the child's well-being," said Capt. Randy Ralston. "That is why it is a priority for us, just because of the danger to the child."

Ralston elaborated on that rationale in a press release posted yesterday. After Banda's son "reported to school officials that his mother and other adults in his residence were avid drug users," Ralston says, the officials called CPS, which in turn contacted the police. The search, based on a warrant obtained that evening, discovered "approximately 1¼ pounds of suspected marijuana," along with "a lab for manufacturing cannabis oil on the kitchen table and kitchen counters."

Banda uses cannabis oil to treat the symptoms of Crohn's disease, a fact that she openly discusses. But Kansas is not one of the 23 states that recognize marijuana as a medicine, so all use of cannabis is equally illegal there. Ralston emphasizes that "the items taken from the residence were within easy reach of the child," although he cites no evidence that the boy was actually endangered by his mother's medicine.

Banda has not been formally accused of any crimes yet. Ralston says the charges could include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, misdemeanor or felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment. Making cannabis oil also seems to qualify as manufacturing a controlled substance, a "drug severity level 1 felony" punishable by a prison sentence as long as 17 years.

The family court judge cited the possibility of felony charges as a reason to remove Banda's son from his home. For a while he was staying with his father, Banda's ex-husband, but CBS News reports that CPS "took the boy back into protective custody" when he "ended [up] back with his mother again." As far as I can tell, the counterintuitive notion that Banda's son is better off in state custody is based on no evidence other than his mother's use of a medicine that is legal in about two dozen states.

Just heard on Glenn Beck that John Whitehead (lawyer, Rutherford Institute, "Battlefield America") has been trying to get in touch with this lady to represent her.

I just read a recent article about Shona, and when I scrolled down the page I found 'Most influential people who've used marijuana'. Look at number 37! ughhhhh.....I guess they're going to rehash that lie again at some point. Aquabuddha here we come.....

Here's the article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/23/shona-banda-son_n_7129906.html

What lie?

I thought the lie was that Rand kidnapped a female college student, held her against her will and tried to make her use drugs - THAT was the lie. She said her self that she was a voluntary participant and they never made her use drugs after the media hit him with it the first time. Rand never directly admitted to using cannabis, but he did infer it. People will just have to accept that he smoked weed in college, but so did every President since 1992. It probably makes him even more electable in this day and age.

Exactly! That's the lie I'm referring to.

Kid probably wasn't in a designated Free Speech Zone. This raid was clearly justified.

In a word, yes.

Theye can do as they please.

Is that because they hold supreme moral authority? No.

Is it because they possess overwhelming force over us? No.

It is because they have enough men with guns who will do Theire bidding; men whom we fail to send home in body bags in whatever volumes it takes to get the point across that we are not the servants, serfs, or chattels.

But we sit idly by and tolerate what Theye do. Therefore, human nature being what it tends, Theye continually push the envelope, just as do young children as they test the metes and bounds of their prerogatives; just as scientists and engineers push the limits of knowledge, materials, and design; just as sportsmen push the limits of human reflex, precision, and endurance. The difference here, of course, is that Theye push the envelope of violation where every act is one of war upon the individual, a crime of the worst sort. And idly by do we abide, often complaining but doing nothing of substance to put these varlets in their rightful places, which in many cases is on the ground, face-down, feeding the buzzards and coyotes.

We have nobody to blame but ourselves. We say we love liberty most, but we lie. We love convenience more. A lot more.

And so the world turns. Let me know when the revolution starts. I'll be there with my rifle and my sneakiest shit. Until then, I suppose I will be here flapping my gums like a useless idiot.

My only nit to pick with you is your use of the royal "We". Lots of folks in the libertarian movement and broader effort to push back the police state having been trying to push back against the police state for a long time. It has landed plenty in jail/their possessions stolen/their reputations smeared/career and families destroyed... and has gotten some summarily executed in the streets like dogs.
