Before I say anything I want everyone to know that i know that fight is not over yet. There are still many states out there that we could have a good showing in. I think it is amazing that we have gained so much support and our numbers aren't that far from the "top tier" candidates such as the Ghoul or Huckafuckabee.

I also know that the Good Dr. doesn't want to run as an independent. However, I think he has a special message. And I think that he should create a new party the Constitutional Party, a party that is based on the constitution and a party that will up hold it. Unlike the two parties we see today who have lost there way completely. I have been a republican my whole life but, this party is no longer what it used to be, it no longer fights for what it should fight for.

I believe Ron should start his own party the Constitutional Party. Just a out there thought what do you guys think. Don't kill me on this I am just saying it would be nice to have a party which hasn't been take over by the Neo-Cons.

What do you all think?:confused::confused::confused:

there is no better way to end this than joining a 3rd party, to many obstacle, better if we inflitrate the neocon controlled Gop..

Your a little late, the Constitution Party already exists and theres nothing constitutional about them since they believe Church and State should be one.

There already is a Constitution Party

I think there's already a Constitution Party. In fact, both Michael Peroutka and Chuck Baldwin (who ran on the Constitution PArty ticket for President in 2004) are listed as "Endorsers" of the Ron Paul campaign on the official site.

Taken straight from their main page...

"Join the Constitution Party in its work to restore our government to its Constitutional limits and our law to its Biblical foundations"

Sounds pretty Bible Thumpy to me.

The CP doesn't want to violate the establishment clause and set up a Church of America as your initial comment suggests.

Our law is based on Biblical law, at least it was from the outset. Our system of government in fact is based on Presbyterian polity. It was the Puritans who set the precedents for what this country became. Do you not know the history of this Republic or do you instinctively attack anyone who has faith in Jesus Christ?

Bullshit.

Anyone who disputes that are country was founded upon a biblical foundation doesn't know enough about history.

Most states actually funded, and even had official, churches up until the time of the Civil War, when the unconstitutionally passed 14th amendment all of the sudden changed everything. The intent of the 1st amendment was to prevent the Federal Government from choosing a favorite region and shoving their religion down the throats of the other sections. Of course now I think the Federal Gov't. shouldn't have anything to do w/ religion except the daily prayer in Congress, and the states shouldn't hold up any church as the official church, but churches should have the right to speak about political issue and candidates w/out fear that the tax man gonna get 'em.

Yeah, and Biblical law is based on the basic set of ethics that humans developed in order to get along in groups larger than a single family. Don't murder anyone, don't steal their stuff, and don't screw their wife. When they start explaining it that way, instead of "because God said so", then I'll think about jumping on board.

From their Preamble:

The Constitution of the United States provides that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." The Constitution Party supports the original intent of this language. Therefore, the Constitution Party calls on all those who love liberty and value their inherent rights to join with us in the pursuit of these goals and in the restoration of these founding principles.

Where do you think that "basic set of ethics" came from?

The Constitution Party sent out an article bashing Mike Huckabee and supporting Ron Paul to their supporters today.

Considering what Huckabee represents, that says to me they support constitutionality well enough.

There is already a Constitutional Party and a Libertarian Party, and a host of other similar parties. There could be a serious third party in this Nation, but it would require all the various factions to unite and put aside some of their beliefs to form a common platform. I doubt we can do that, we are very diverse group of individuals, with very strong opinions.

Voluntering at the local Ron Paul HQ has allowed me to meet some of the rich characters that make up our party. I seriously doubt we could be a single party for long. Dr. Paul is the first, and probably only, Constitutionalist I would vote for, the majority of them are kindof … strange.
