ConservativeHQ: Nominating Romney is Suicide for the GOP

How can we make non-caring folks like in Iowa who will vote for Romney because "he looks the part" understand this ^^^ kind of stuff?

Are there boots on the ground with brochures and DVDs right now in those important states like Iowa? I hear from some college kids that their parents don't even know who Ron Paul is... and those who do apparently view him as a non-contender...

*frustrated*

Straight up tell them that a vote for Romney is a vote for Obama. Its the establishments plan to have Obama a second term president. They get the wars without much protest from the so called Left. Every candidate is for more big central government other than you know who.

Voldemort!

if anyone but Paul is nominated, same holds true. We saw it in 2008, we'll see it in 2012.

A vote for romney, perry, cain, newt, santorum, bachmann, huntsman or johnson is a vote for obama. They would all lose to him. Only Paul would beat obama. And that isnt being biased.

Hopefully we'll get a Republican Senate. If Ron doesn't win the primary then I doubt any of the others will win the general against Obama. The party will then be forced to bring in a more conservative next time. But the govt will be gridlocked (hopefully) so not much will happen in terms of taking away our liberties.

Ron Paul will be on the louisiana presidential ballot, one way or the other. just like last time.

I share your frustraion. The only way to break through is educate the people on the seriousness of our financial and monetary problems. People do not understand how the demise of a currency impacts them, and how close to the brink we really are. This is our problem is that Ron Paul is seen by too many as a "radical". They do not relize that to continue with our central banking "money-as-debt" monetary system...we all loose...big.

The baby-boomer republicans (I know ALOT of them) have always subscribe the "have your cake and eat it too" philosophy. Unfortunatly we cannot win without their support (obviously), but my experience is that they just want the satisfaction of voting rebublican, and do not vote ideals, principles, or for any substantial (but nessicary) change.

Howard Dean, who I can't stand but a pretty smart fellow, said this morning on Morning Joe that Romney is the GOP establishment "annointed one", however the voters and the news media are not going for him.

I believe he is correct, especially when you see the banksters and lobbyists are dumping more money on Romney then they are on Obama. So there is a war within the Republican Party between the elites/establishment and the voting block.

Reading the article, it looks like only republican activists were polled. I have to wonder if there is a different number for Republicans in general.

I'm not really sure I can see how Romney would be any different at all whatsoever from Obama. With Obama you get Obamacare with Romney we get Romneycare. Its amazing Romney could even be in consideration. "Weak field" is an understatement Romney should drop out and run as a Democrat because we all know he's a closet Democrat any way running with an R next to his name. What a national embarrassment!

But--the corporatist media is working so hard to convince everyone that Romney is the only one who can beat Obama because, gosh, he's just so darned moderate. As if there's anyone left of the middle class who can still afford to be moderate, and as if Romney telling the Citadel that God wants us to kill Arabs wholesale is in any way moderate.

Yeah, this plausible-sounding mularkey is going to be hard to refute with some people. But I think in everyone's hearts they know that plastic man Flip Flopney doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell in the general election.

That vid of him and Perry playing 'shut up no you shut up' slowed down enough to make them both seem more drunk than they were really needs to be made viral yesterday.

Romney is the Republican version of John Kerry. Both Flip-floppers, no one loved either and both were/are viewed as the most electable by the establishment.
