Central Connecticut State University student behind terror lockdown says it was a misunderstanding over Halloween costume

A 21-year-old university student has apologized after his Snake Eyes costume from G.I. Joe caused a three-hour lockdown at his New Britain school Monday. David Kyem said the tactical vest, camouflage pants, mask, sword and handgun were all just for show and he never meant to scare anyone.

A 21-year-old Central Connecticut State University student blamed for a campus lockdown Monday has apologized, claiming it was all a misunderstanding from "a Halloween costume gone bad."
CCSU senior David Kyem told New Britain police he was returning from a Halloween party over the weekend when he marched on campus wearing a tactical vest, camouflage pants, mask, sword and handgun.
The costume featuring fake, plastic weapons allegedly for the G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes provoked a spray of 911 calls and a three-hour campus lockdown that affected two neighboring schools as well.

He has to apologize for his halloween costume?

People are saying it was a "dumb" idea and he was arrested and charged with breach of peace?

CHARGED with BREACH OF PEACE????

HE was CHARGED for wearing a halloween costume???

And the attitude of the police is so negative, like he committed some terrible act. I can't believe this country.

IT'S SHOCKING this kid wasn't killed by a SWAT team.

So now Halloween costumes are subject to get you arrested. Because bad guys in real life always dress like Snake Eyes ...so he should have known better...

Don't wear a Rambo Costume...Don't resemble anyone from the A team like B.A Baracus. Halo 3 costumes, NEO from Matrix, Hell even Storm Troopers might be too scary for some people.

Clowns, Pirates, and anything that makes you look pussy whipped are the only acceptable costumes, anything else could be subject to government breach of peace violations with possible cavity search.

War on Halloween.

An executive order will set up the department of costume & toy regulation. This department will mandate that all costumes and toys are produced by authorized costume or toy manufacturers meet department standards. Any individual attempting to make or in possession of material to fabricate a costume or toy whether for personal use or for sale will be in violation of the costume & toy act of 2013 and be subject to a minimum fine of $28,000 and or 6 years in prison.

..

He was lucky, other "suspicious looking" people have had far more tragic fate.

We have had a couple of these incidents here in San Jose recently. A community college was on lockdown because of students filming a project in which they used a cardboard cutout of a gun and San Jose State went on partial lockdown because somebody allegedly saw a person with a gun, but nothing ever materialized. People are so scared these days, it is sad.
