RP should stay away from this, but "kylejack" is 100% wrong and should not be repeating a false "debunking" story.

It is not the production of layers which was the issue, but the number and nature of them. It is impossibleto reproduce the 9-layer result with certain key elements in their own discrete layers via any process other than intentional alteration. I do have the skills to confirm this myself and did so with the original document released by the WH. You cannot produce a PDF scan of a legit BC document with the registrar's signature and date time and stamp each on its own separate, discrete, and movable layer. It cannot be done, and the embarrassingly poor excuse for a "debunking" (which actually confirms, not debunks, the fraud if you look at the document he produced).

The document, or anything close to it, can't be reproduced by any known method, and certainly not by the method by which we were told it would be produced.

You haven't done your homework, and don't know what you're talking about. I've been in the IT industry for over 20 years and you can't snow me with obfuscation. There is no way in hell that the authentication info is discrete and on the same layer in an automatic process. You clearly have zero familiarity with what actually happens when Adobe optimizes or when OCR is applied to a document, if you think it at all plausible that the layers seen on the document are accidental.

So neg rep back to you as long as you insist that what is false is true and as long as you attempt to assert things of which I am 100% certain that you do not know.

If thoughto is referring to the type of layers used in programs like photoshop, he is right-those cannot be created during any scanning process. If someone can trace down the native file, it can be opened in the proper program (photoshop, etc) and we will be able to see exactly what is on each layer.

In this case (based on meta information in the document and other artifacts) it's clear that the program used to edit it was Adobe Illustrator, which makes sense as it is a much better tool for an electronic document forgery than is Photoshop.

If someone wants to give me attachment rights I'll attach the original document, or someone can download it from WH and I'll give a checksum to determine if it's altered.

Ironically, your example actually shows the opposite of what you intend (further proving you are suffering from cranio-rectal inversion), as his example produces dozens of layers from a simpler document - one with no security background - whereas the WH document has only 9 layers. In the example in your video, most of those layers are nonsense data, whereas the layers in the WH document are the key elements you would want to change in a forgery.

Well, they are different documents, so they'll create different numbers of layers. The point is, when you run the Optimize command in Illustrator, it attempts to simulate layers based on the elements it detects, and these elements can be taken away or put back simply by choosing or not choosing to display the simulated layers.

I've never seen optimize create any extra layers. Perhaps you use a different version than I do. I use CS3. (and I'm certified in Computer Graphic Design-no n00b)

guess what's funny about all these "proof it's fake" investigations : EVERY single time they ask some photoshop expert or investigator about Obama's birth certificate, they pick on details without comparing it to a real one, such as the Nordyke twins certs, or others, how hypocritical that they seems to know with absolute confidence Obama doesn't have a real one, but they can't produce a few real ones to show why. Don't the skeptics or conspiracy theorists have some actual evidence of good ones themselves? Or are they counting on their followers to never question them?
