Confirmation that Obama's Birth Certificate Is Not Authentic

Wow. I've suspected it was a fake for a long time but never really wanted to discuss it with anyone because it definitely comes across quintessential conspiracy theory... Big news when a known official is putting his weight behind it.

You'd think the White House would've handled this better. What a mess. People in power getting lazy.

Joe Arpaio is a thug and an idiot.

As to the question of how it will affect Ron Paul's campaign - it will sink it if Ron Paul is associated with this.

I suspect it is all fake, but I doubt if it would factor into this year's election in the slightest.

I don't pretend to understand completely how the world works, but the more conspiratorial side of me feels that a compromised candidate is always of advantage to whatever power elements brought him or her there. They could make that an issue at any time. Also, if Obama is re-elected and the economy collapses in his second term, I could certainly see the birth certificate issue brought up in a major way on a grassroots level out of a sense of generalized anger.

I think most people, or at least most Ron Paul supporters, regard the direct question of the birth certificate to be trivial on an epic scale. However, it does bring up some bigger issues, if only in a symbolic way, in terms of media and accountability and so forth.

Ron Paul doesn't buy into the birther argument, and most RP supporters that I know do not. Let's try to let the political-hacks waste their resources on this rabbit hole.

Why would Ron Paul be associated with it?

I meant, now that Obama is obviously not going to win the election (due to him not being able to run for president..due to him being ineligible to be a presidential candidate...or the president.).

I would make a point about the Constitution and how easily the establishment brushes it off like no big deal, if I were Paul. Hopefully it will help open up America's eyes if anything. Just hoping Fox doesn't spin this as Obama being "evil", and not addressing the Constitutional problem and how this situation is only an example of it being violated.

Sorry, but this thread doesn't belong in Grassroots Central. It has 0 to do with RP's campaign.

Looks like he is talking about the long-debunked PDF layers issue. I'm getting so sick of this nonsense.

How is it trivial? Really? He broke the Constitution. It's grounds for him to be impeached. Ron Paul should be at the forefront of addressing this, as he is "the Constitution's Champion". He needs to use this as an example, and address the other ways we have not been following the Constitution.

Debunked nearly a year ago.

PDF Layers in Obama’s Birth Certificate

We have received several e-mails today calling into question the validity of the PDF that the White House released, namely that there are embedded layers in the document. There are now several other people on the case. We looked into it and dismissed it.

The PDF is composed of multiple images. That’s correct. Using a photo editor or PDF viewer of your choice, you can extract this image data, view it, hide it, etc. But these layers, as they’re being called, aren’t layers in the traditional photo-editing sense of the word. They are, quite literally, pieces of image data that have been positioned in a PDF container. They appear as text but also contain glyphs, dots, lines, boxes, squiggles, and random garbage. They’re not combined or merged in any way. Quite simply, they look like they were created programmatically, not by a human.

What’s plausible is that somewhere along the way — from the scanning device to the PDF-creation software, both of which can perform OCR (optical character recognition) — these partial/pseudo-text images were created and saved. What’s not plausible is that the government spent all this time manufacturing Obama’s birth certificate only to commit the laughably rookie mistake of exporting the layers from Photoshop, or whatever photo editing software they are meant to have used. It’s likely that whoever scanned the birth certificate in Hawaii forgot to turn off the OCR setting on the scanner. Let’s leave it at that.

UPDATE: I’ve confirmed that scanning an image, converting it to a PDF, optimizing that PDF, and then opening it up in Illustrator, does in fact create layers similar to what is seen in the birth certificate PDF. You can try it yourself at home.

UPDATE II: For those of you who still aren’t convinced, here’s a one-page PDF that I just scanned and optimized, so you can see for yourself that an optimized PDF shows up in Illustrator as layers. (I didn’t spend hours getting the settings right.)

I know it seems a lot of you don't care about this issue very much, but I believe Ron Paul should stay away from this but we should cheer on for justice. Obama and his gang opening committed fraud and should be locked up for that. Us peasants if we break the slightest law you betcha that federal agents and what have you will be busting down your door. I really hope someone gets jail time for this, these clowns aren't above the law.

'Person of Interest'

Are they bluffing?
Probably. Very curious that Arpaio decides to 'investigate' this just as DOJ is cracking down on him for all the shit he has pulled and all the people that have died in his custody. And of course, they seize on something that was noticed, analyzed, and debunked when the document was first released nearly a year ago.

The Law Enforcement is even getting involved.... :/

From what I gathered, it was from the county of his "birthplace"

How? If Obama ends up not being the candidate, it creates a major change for Ron Paul's campaign. Perhaps giving him more ammunition.

This may be true, however, Ron tainting his name with this controversy would give far more ammunition to the media to further marginalize Paul into some conspiracy theorist, which he is not.

How are you guys not treating this like a big deal?!?!?!? If this is legit, that means that Obama was not born in the United States. Why else would he fake his birth certificate? Therefore, he can't be president. Therefore, he cannot run for president. That's a huge freaking deal.

Paul's whole campaign is how he is the defender of the Constitution.

Why on Earth would they allow Obama in office? If it's true, you know people had to have known about it. It shouldn't just be Obama that get's in trouble for it. I'm going to put my conspiracy hat on now and wonder if Obama could just be a fall guy for this. Was this used as some sort of political leverage? Could this be a push towards biometrics and REAL ID?
