The seven senators who supported the Constitution and voted against this act are below:

Sen. Thomas Harkin (D-IA)

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)

Sen. Thomas Coburn (R-OK)

Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR)

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR)

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT)

Sen. Bernard Sanders (I-VT)

Actually I believe 13 Senators voted AGAINST the NDAA when all the debate was said and done.

Cardin (D-MD)
Coburn (R-OK)
Crapo (R-ID)
DeMint (R-SC)
Durbin (D-IL)
Franken (D-MN)
Harkin (D-IA)
Lee (R-UT)
Merkley (D-OR)
Paul (R-KY)
Risch (R-ID)
Sanders (I-VT)
Wyden (D-OR)

In any case this does not change the situation of Mike Lee.

I'd really like to see Ron go with Gary Johnson. Gary supported Ron in '08 and he's supporting him now even though he's also running - because he supports the message of Liberty. He's younger, but with great experience (successful 2-term governor). I think that would be an outstanding ticket. He also has a proven record to point to where he's been consistent on the message.

Only two of these are acceptable to us, reputable enough to be qualified, and trustworthy enough to not sell out to the establishment:

Rand Paul, Senator Kentucky
Gary Johnson, Governor of New Mexico

These guys are good, but wouldn't be taken seriously by media due to their lack of qualifications:

Lew Rockwell, Chairman of the Mises Institute
John Stossel, Libertarian Investigative Journalist FOX/ABC
Andrew Napolitano, Former New Jersey Superior Court Judge
Doug French, President of the Mises Institute
Peter Schiff, Economist
Andre Marrou, Former Libertarian VP Candidate
Robert Murphy, Austrian Economist
Tom Davis, Senator South Carolina
Jim Forsythe, New Hampshire Senator
Andy Sanborn, New Hampshire Senator
Doug Wead, Senior RP2012 Campaign Advisor, Presidential Historian
Bruce Fein, Constututional/International Lawyer
Michael F. Scheuer, Former CIA Intelligence Officer

These guys are establishment hacks:

Jim DeMint, Senator South Carolina
Mark Sanford, Former Governer South Carolina
Marco Rubio, U.S. Senator from Florida

These guys are prestigious, but not VP material, and may not be on Ron Paul's side across the board:

William "Fox" Fallon, Retired 4 star Admiral US Navy
John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods
Jim Grant, former Barron’s columnist

These guys are jokes:

Wayne Allyn Root, former VP Nominee for Libertarian Party
Jon Stewart, Political Satirist
Steven Colbert, Political Satirist

These two are very interesting, but would be better if Ron Paul ran as an independent:

Dennis Kucinich, Congressman (D) Ohio
Jesse Ventura, Former Govenor of Minnesota

There are only two - maybe three worth considering, IMO -

Judge Napalitano - He's the future of the Ron Paul movement at the executive level. Everyone thinks that Ran Paul is eventually going to run for president, and maybe he eventually will, however he is more valuable to the movement as a Senator for the forseeable future. Judge Napalitano should be the executive level standard-bearer for the movement for 2016.

Gary Johnson - He would be a great vice presidential pick, however, it's not clear that he's on board with austrian economics, and to me this is a deal breaker as far as supporting a president with my checkbook is concerned.

Rand Paul - Like I said before, I like Rand, I expect him to run for president someday, but for now, I think he serves the movement the best from the senate. If it came to a brokered convention, and part of the dealing put Rand in as Vice President to Romney, I would vote for that ticket after swallowing the lump in my throat.

Some thoughts on Gingrich, Santorum, Obama, and Romney would be appreciated... especially ranking of those mentioned. Give reason. Knowing your enemy is just as important as knowing your friends; which is why I made this thread comprehensive.

Also, if you have thoughts on any prominent Indy tickets, I'd post them in the OP... though I personally doubt anyone outside of the top five I've listed will make it beyond a 5% national threshold.

Jim DeMint is very fiscally and quite socially conservative; he does have neocon tendencies with military endeavors... but I get the impression he's coming around. I'm not sure where he stands on war on drugs / war on terror. He's definately a power player and he's had many a kind word for Paul lately; he's known for pivotal endorsements at key moments. Have no doubt a Paul/DeMint ticket would have power.

Gary is an israel firster.

Chuck Baldwin on a national stage, with a cleaned up message, would take it to Joey Biden in the debates and have the New World Order shaking in their boots. Not to mention that his evangelical religion would attract a significant portion of the fascist right. PAUL / BALDWIN 2012

Who are you shilling for? Rand ? Gary? The nepotism is a clear issue and would not fly in the sphere of public opinion and would sink our campaign. We need to stop talking about a Ron/Rand ticket. It lends itself to too much controversy. Gary would be a compromise choice, as he is an israel firster and is an absolutely terrible debater. He looks like he's nervous and afraid most of the time he speaks. We need a powerful voice, someone who can wow the crowd with rhetoric but also has the principle and record.

1) Judge Nap
2) Chuck Baldwin
3) Pat Buchanan

those are the only choices as I see as viable.

Most people would be turned off at the nepotism. Plus, Ron will still need him in the Senate.

I don't like the idea of Paul/Paul. Just doesn't sit right.

after JFK appointed RFK the law was changed, and would be illegal today.

Rand will be desperately needed to introduce admin bills in the senate.
