Who saw it? Colbert used the "deport radical speech" out of context smear, then added that Rand attended a shooting event and accused a band that played of some real ugly stuff. Of course he then turned that on Rand, smearing by association. Typical nonsense, pure political smear.

No doubt video will be available shortly.

Watch how fast they throw Colbert to the dogs when they are done with him.

Yeah I saw it as it was running. It was so stilted and robot-like in how the attack came out.

I watched TDS and Colbert to enjoy the Weiner coverage. TDS was pretty good but Colbert spent like half a bit talking about Weinergate and quickly changed the subject. Even before the mechanic and abrupt transition to the unexpected attack on Rand I was like "Wow this is it? That's sad".

It felt so fabricated and machine-like I felt bad to see him reach this level in his career. A while back I could honestly say that I thought he was funny even when he wasn't on my side of a comedy bit. That hasn't been the case for I'd say two years now.

It's not even light hearted bias from him anymore it's just bitter attacks on those who hold principled views different from his own.

It's more than bias. He's part of the "agenda setting" echo chamber on the left now and all his bits are geared toward getting his audience to think a certain way as opposed to funny pot shots at politicians.

Stephen Colbert R.I.P.

that wasnt that bad...

the eye chart at the end was funny along with the "his old cover story that hes an opthamologist"

care levels are low. laugh it up Mr Colbert. all fun in games until the dollar is destroyed, right?

People who somehow got the impression Colbert was a "friend" to libertarianism really weren't paying much attention. He is a funny guy with a funny show. This is what he does. It is what all comedians do; exaggerate and take things out of context. It was a relatively funny bit I think. We make jokes on this forum all the time about politicians we disagree with...and even ones we agree with. Why would he be set into some specialized category of liberty-haters?

It was funny! I think it was good exposure for Rand. One thing that helped Rand was the playing of the audio from Hannity. It helped reaffirm that he is neither racist nor an Islamophobe. +1 for the video of him firing the huge assault rifle. That's bad ass for a senator.

It's a joke. Russell Kirk was right when he quipped that libertarians are humorless.

The most effective propaganda is not direct. The vast majority of viewers will only remember the part about the Nazis.
