CO2 Emissions Hit 67-Year Low In Trump's America, As Rest-Of-World Rises

We suspect you won't hear too much about this from the liberal mainstream media, or the environmental movement, or even Al Gore - but, according to the latest energy report from The Energy Information Administration (EIA), under President Trump, per-capita carbon dioxide emissions are now the lowest they’ve been in nearly seven decades.

Even more interesting is the fact that US carbon emissions dropped while emissions from energy consumption for the rest of the world increased by 1.6%, after little or no growth for the three years from 2014 to 2016.

The U.S. emitted 15.6 metric tons of CO2 per person in 1950. After rising for decades, it’s declined in recent years to 15.8 metric tons per person in 2017, the lowest measured levels in 67 years.

And as The Daily Caller reports, in the last year, U.S. emissions fell more than 0.5% while European emissions rose 2.5% (and Chinese emissions rose 1.6% along with Hong Kong's 7.0% surge), according to BP world energy data - an ironic turn of events given Europe’s shaming of Trump for leaving the Paris climate accord.

Trump has been in office how long?

This is the ninth time in this century that the US has had the largest decline in emissions in the world. This also was the third consecutive year that emissions in the US declined, though the fall was the smallest over the last three years.

And what steps has he taken to reduce carbon emissions in the US?

Wholesale dealer gasoline price is at 2.12 . Or , about 65 cents lower than natural gas. Emissions should be low . Fuel demand is low . One Year oil Forecast is around 85.00 , but I do not think so . West Texas Light Sweet Crude is at about 74.00 . I do not see demand changing much .

Did we need the Paris accord zip?

So nothing. But he will probably try to claim credit anyways. The Paris Accords were voluntary anyways- no country was forced to do or not do anything if they were members. The US is the only country not a part of it. Even Syria (who were the last as of November when they agreed) and North Korea signed on though.

But he may change his mind (as he often does):

Climate change: Trump says US 'could conceivably' rejoin Paris deal

President Donald Trump has said the US could "conceivably" return to the 2015 Paris climate accord if an agreement treated America more fairly.

He said it "was a bad deal for the US", repeating comments made when he announced the US withdrawal last June.

But he said he had no problem with the accord itself.

A US pull-out will make the US in effect the only country not to be part of the accord. The announcement sparked global anger.

Some critics have called it an abdication of US leadership on a key global challenge.

He really hasn't.

(Trump's changes are after eight years of Obama's regs.)
(Let's praise/blame BHO for those regs. It's too soon yet.)
(Let's see how things look in February in terms of trends.)
