They're going to have to do a helluva lot better than 51% amongst the college-aged/20-somethings before socialism takes root in this country. Hell, I was a fucking socialist in college. I'm pleasantly surprised the percentage is that low in 2018. Many if not most of those kids are gonna grow up, get taxed and get good and tired of it, just like many of us did.
There's little doubt in my cynical view that the country is trending in the wrong way, but CNN is jumping the shark, in my opinion. They're as much a victim of social media as the rest of us - they're banking on what I believe/hope is a short-term oeuvre, and forgetting that the great leftist tide tends to subside once those kids grow up, start to become economically successful and start paying a noticeable amount in taxes. And what's more? We're having fewer and fewer kids with each successive generation... which means the population *should* become more and more "conservative" (not that this is necessarily a good thing overall, but probably good with regard to the advance of "socialism", as it were).
