CNN: Ron Paul Will Spend Bulk of TeaParty Dough in NY, FL, CA

Probably because if he won California he'll win the nomination.

I thought they were trying to change it so California wasn't a "winner-take-all" state. Hmm.

You should have said "I think California would be very receptive to his message."

Thanks. :) I'll leave it like it is; don't want to seem like a snob.

California is facing huge budget shortfalls from government growth gone wild. People will be looking for reform.

NY is more puzzling to me. Maybe Dr. Paul is willing to go hunting where the other candidates don't feel like trying?

Being from Connecticut, I really don't think that Giuliani has the tri-state area as locked up as people think he does. There's a lot of people who aren't fans of his.

I heard there's a group that wants to air anti-Giuliani ads in January. New York already hates Giuliani. Maybe they're looking for someone to support.

the campaign said it needed the money for NH in the first week of Dec... They told us Dec 16th was too late for NH & Iowa ads...

I don't think you can make large ad buys in major TV shows a few days before they air... I think you have to buy them weeks in advance

Yes, either fortunately or unfortunately. Each congressional district is worth 3 delegates. We're pretty confident we will win the easy districts around Los Angeles and San Francisco because there are very few registered Republicans. The more conservative areas of the state need more work.

I think this is great... we have boots on the ground in NH, which should help get us a good placing in that state. I truly dont worry about not placing 1st in either of those states... in fact, it might be better to place 3rd in both... I like that he is focusing on other important states.

When you have $20 mill in the bank, and know your supporters can turn the money spigot back on anytime they need to, you can afford to compete aggressively. Ron is taking it to Rudy on his supposed untouchable turf---the big states. Rudy is HIGHLY vulnerable in all four, and he apparently didn't plan for anybody to match his campaign efforts there. If Paul beats Giuliani in NY or even comes close to, in his home state, his aura of invincibility will be shattered. See:

Why not spend sme in Nevada, an early state where he definitely could win by a landslide? Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the Nv primaries will be held just before super Tuesday... that could give him incredible momentum.

Nevada caucus is January 19th. This is our first ever caucus; and we used to wait until March. Apathy is high. Many voters do no know about these changes.

Dr. Paul owns the radio (in Reno at least) here. There are billboards all over town; none for the others.

TV will probably hit right after Iowa/New Hampshire.

California, Florida, and New York are great opportunities for financial support as well and vote support. We here in Florida are already opening offices and holding events and meetings without much support from the campaign, their support will be a major boost to Florida's Constitutional Ron Paul Movement. This is great news!

This campaigns turning point will be California. We need to put all our efforts there after NH. The invasions of federal government over states rights will play HUGE in Cali and their new electoral system is setup up perfectly for RP to win the state, even if he doesnt win all the district.
If we had some strong Cali members, I would love to see more chipins and ideas on how to win California.

This is confusing. Now I remember why I've always hated politics, too complicated and controlled.

As a New Yorker (upstate) I'd live to see some anti-Giuliani ads. :)

I don't know - there are a lot of people who support socialistic idealogy in California (and racist quotas like affirmative action). I'm not so sure he will be as well-received here.

My partner's 20 year old daughter goes to school in San Francisco. She arrived home today for break and Ron was on Glen Beck when she arrived. Normally only midly interested in politics, she knew who it was speaking just from his voice and said: "Ah! Listening to the words of Ronald E. Paul, huh? He is FAMOUS in Cali. He is SO gonna win." :) Now, I know it's just one person's opinion, and I'm biased cause I love her deeply, but it was fun to hear. :D
