CNN regarding missing RP comments.

Call me cynical, but I'm not buying it. All they had to do was to take the "leave a comment" link off that page, and explain to the Paul supporters that the response was overwhelming the system.

What I don't understand now though is why it isn't straining their system. It has more comments now than the one before it. Maybe it is straining their system now, but they aren't pulling it down. I don't know.

Edit: How come I get the top of the page twice... Weird.

Ok, call me a dreamer if you will, and perhaps someone else has already said this...

BUT, I would be happy beyond measure if Ron Paul kept on polling in the 1% to 2% range right to the primaries and then in the biggest upset of political history wins the primaries by a landslide!!

Oh, to dream, such a sweet gift!

(Don't worry, I'm not delusional though!):D

The CNN blog is absolutely percolating with supportive posts for Ron Paul! There is the occasional clueless post,....

More importantly, a significant number of the people who say "I like him, but....." have arguments that I think could be won over. LIke, confusing abolishing medicare with privatizing it.

Neocons and war mongers are lost causes, but a lot of "We The People" seem like they could be persuaded to give it a try.

If only TV would get out his message.

What I don't understand now though is why it isn't straining their system.

Maybe they added some resources or something? It's still tottering. The number of posts flucuates back and forth.

My post has been removed......I searched the page for my name and it is gone now. I didn't use any offensive language...I even spelled everything correctly. Sheeesh This irks me. I wish I had saved my post, I thought I made a good point about how I am not a spammer, nor have I ever spammed anything in my life. I don't want to be paranoid....but do you think they are removing posts that make their point too well?

Wow, the comments over there are fabulous. Even I am amazed :) Here's a nice one:

Ron Paul is NOT INCLUDED in most of the so-called “Scientific” polls. In fact, Ron Paul was NOT an option in the poll given in TEXAS… you know, the state in which he is a representative… In all, Ron Paul was an option in FIVE OUT OF TWENTY-SEVEN “scientific” polls; all of which were in states where Dr. Paul would have less support. This is why he has only marginal showings in the polls. In the 5 polls where he was included, he did quite well - especially when you consider how much the deck is stacked against him…

To understand “The Ron Paul Effect,” you need to step back and ask yourself one primary question:

Why would SO many people go out of their way to tip all of these internet polls in Dr. Paul’s favor?

The answer (are you sure that you can handle this):

Dr. Paul makes people feel EXCITED about being AMERICANS again!

This is what politics is all about. The people are looking for a condidate who inspires them. They want a candidate who will lead this country out of these dark days, and into the light! We’ve tried fear and death, and the only thing it brings us is MORE fear and death. The people are starting to WAKE UP; and for the enlightened American, Ron Paul is the ONLY choice.

It’s time for America to return to the days of FREEDOM, and LIBERTY, and PEACE.

The Constitution is NOT a dirty word, and it is NOT just a “piece of paper…” It’s the foundation of this great country… and THE PEOPLE WANT IT BACK!

I just saw this one, along the lines of what you are describing:

Why do you think that the outpouring of support for Ron Paul is “bloggers” or “spammers”? I rarely post a comment anywhere. It’s obvious that Ron’s support could be even more widespread if the media gave him equal time. The “debate” was ridiculous. The “top tier” candidates are pre-decided by the media and the money people, and then that becomes self-fulfilling prophecy.

Ron Paul is for real, and this resonates with the people.

Guess they shut this one down.... no more room? ...780 comments . Lots of support only a few opposed :D

Some angry people posting in all caps... sheesh. This isn't the way to get the message out.

Cnn Censoring Again!

Wow - CNN is the pinnacle of censorship (getting worse than FAUX).

They put up an article and ask for comments... then when it gets to 780, they stop allowing comments....

That's it.... they don't allow anymore..

They cut it off. (I checked 3 hours ago and it was at 780... checked now... still at 780).

Anyone else notice how bias they were in describing Paul's stance on things?

Could be a technical limitation, although in that case a 255 comment limit would make more sense...

You did pick a great one there, slantedview. It showed facts, reason and most importantly IMO, a positive passion for not just RP, but politics and what America should be about. Too many times I read on blogs (not so much this one) about how stupid one is for favoring another candidate. I'm guilty of this myself, too often I think. It reminds me that it's better to use calm, positive reasoning rather than trying to belittle an opponent in an arguement.:)

Naw, a comment system wouldn't have that sort of a limitation on it, unless comments were stored with an 8-bit 1-255 ID value or something, which is very highly unlikely.

If they've stopped it it's because everything's already been said. This isn't censorship or anything, it's just that the response is... duly noted.

We need to stop this. Even if Ron Paul does not win (God forbid) we need to shut these schmucks down. I want to find the people who pay these stations bills and find a way to bring the real news to tv. I hate tv pundits. I wish they would stop telling me who to vote for. Like I could not figure it out myself. Grrrrr.....
This is small stuff compared to the 7 min. they gave Dr. Paul to stand up for constitution. Their job is not to give me their opinion but to report the news. Is it just me or is anyone tired of hearing their opinion?

Anyone else notice how bias they were in describing Paul's stance on things?

Not bias.

His views are obviously very different from what we typically hear; journalists aren't very good at conveying fresh ideas. Hell, they mess up on technology issues all the time.

There was just a small story about Paul on CNN. "They said that his supporters know their way around the internet. He topped the online unscientific poll." Then they said that the poll can be spammed, but they didn't use the word "spammed" they just suggested it.

my post on cnn...

Ron Paul all the way!

I'm a Californian liberal who has always voted Democrat, however, Dr. Paul has my full support, and I have switched parties to vote for him in the primaries.

As far as the 'village idiot from Texas' comment goes, Dr. Paul was born in Pittsburgh, PA., and moved to Texas in his 30's.

As far as 'idiot' is concerned, just read some of his speeches or watch YouTube videos, and you will realize he is the diametric opposite of Resident Bush, intellectually. Not all Texans are bad, you know, that's just prejudice!

As far as Ron Paul spammers are concerned, I wonder who on earth has that much time to waste! His popularity is catching on like wildfire. Most people I introduce him to immediately dig where he is coming from, and are immediately impressed with his transparent integrity, as well as the common good sense of his platform.
