CNBC GOP Debate on Oct 28th - Who will qualify?

if they can exclude Rand then I have no doubt they will

The problem they have is that they will have to exclude Christie if they exclude Rand, so what to do what to do? I think Rand will be excluded this time if possible.

Scott Walker is out... And Rand is polling slightly higher than he was last time around... And we're months away from the first primary... Why would he be excluded...?

Except Christie does have 5% in one of the NH polls. I'm sure they can find a way.

One stage, one tier of all candidates, probably 15 for the television production debate event with no students - a rip-off

Or you could come up with another idea.

Let's say that CNBC is willing to consider 3 hours for debates. You could have a first round debate with the 15 candidates divided into 3 groups of 5 candidates each. And a final round debate between the winner of each debate (for a 3-person debate) or top 2 winners of each debate (for a 6-person debate). The voters would decide which candidates qualify to the final debate.

Considering time, have 1h30m for the first debate and 1h30 for the final debate. The 1h30m in the first round will be divided by the 15 candidates (6 minutes per candidate) and in the final debate each candidate can get between 15 minutes (in a 6-way debate) and 30 minutes (in a 3-way debate).

In all the debates, there needs to be 3 rounds: economic issues, social issues and foreign issues.

Rand needs to do something now to get his poll numbers up, at least in NH and Iowa. He has less than one month. Being in the top 10 won't be enough this time. It's absolutely critical to get into that debate.

Let's hope that he decides to hit the 2 states and maybe the campaign should start with some mini-ads. :toady:

That sounds too much like an actual debate and not an orchestrated infomercial.

These debates are a farce no matter who gets to participate. Unfortunately it's all about ratings or else it would be fair. I mean, their only purpose is to help us chose the leader of our country right? You need to have X number of candidates on stage and you ask your first question and everyone gets to answer the question with equal time.

It seems now in our country everything needs to be reality TV style or else people don't care.

Seems to be that way doesn't it? Madness it is.

Looks like Rand probably won't make the debate. Guess I was wrong in my earlier post.

It really sucks they base inclusion in the debates on polls. Polling had been found time and time again to be absolutely fraudulent.

it would be one thing if they used polling using 2015 polling methods.

this ridiculousness of doing the majority by land line telephones is stupid

Looks like Rand probably won't make the debate. . . .

And so the economy-themed debate will exclude the Senator who gives a portion of his Congressional budget expenses -
- to the tune of $1.8 million over the past few years - back to the US Treasury.

That would probably not even be good for ratings, let alone the debate purpose of learning about candidates ideas for the nation good.

This Presidential election is about World War III and only World War III -
jobs, economy, and constitutional rights just don't matter anymore to the police state that has been created. Enjoy.

My ideal debate idea would be to allow for all 15 candidates on stage and then have a final debate between the top 5 or 6. :p

Rand might poll higher if he knocks it off with the fake conservative crap. No one wants to hear it and it just makes him look like an insider. How the hell a guy with a doctorate cannot see this is beyond me.
