YouTube - Part 1: 07/15/2009 Freedom Watch 23 w/ Ron Paul, G. Edward Griffin, Peter Schiff, more
Start at 7:05
Truer words have never been spoken.
The bracketed part was paraphrased, but that's essentially what he meant. He then goes on to assert that "we" should try to pass it anyway (which is interesting, given that he admitted it basically has no chance.)
Now, the AUTHOR of the bill, and the LEADER of the political portion of the American liberty movement has just smoothly and quietly indicated that *surprise, surprise* TPTB in Washington will never allow the Fed to be jeopardized, and that the best we can hope for is some
token Fed amendment tacked onto one of Barney Frank's regulation bills.
In summary, it is futile to expect the monopoly State to limit its own power. It's never happened before, and it won't happen at all.
In economics, there is something called "opportunity cost." For instance, the OC of going to work is being able to enjoy leisure time. The OC of using tuna to make a sandwich is using the tuna for making a salad.
The OC of expending scarce movement effort to support legislation is using the effort to support some other method of smashing the State.
Isn't it time we put our efforts into something that's at least
marginally productive??
First, this thread is shit.
Interesting, how you missed the important part of the segment:
"The pressure has to come from the people."
I assume you're a people. This thread is your contribution to pressure Congress?
Get it straight:
It all depends on those in power and what they wanna do.
He's referring to Pelosi (Speaker of the House), and Frank (Chairman of the HFSC)
And, he's telling Y-O-U that the pressure has to come from the people.
That clip is over a month old. You have no clue what the strategy is, what has been done since, what is being done now or what has been planned to be done in the future regarding this bill.
Barney Frank has said in interviews that he has indeed "promised RP to bring the bill out of committee, but no formal request has happened".
For the super dense among us, ask yourselves why the Fed, for the first time in its history, would hire a lobbyist, and a stinky skank of a lobbyist at that. Ask why Bennie would go on a road tour to fight this bill? Ask why every Ivy League economist in the country was prodded to sign petitions, write articles, hold conferences, etc., to fight this bill. Ask why the media has been employed to smear this bill.
Because it has no chance? Because it's a futile attempt? Because Ron's an idiot who doesn't know how this game works?
Frank and Pelosi have the say to bring this bill out of committee.
Frank has promised to bring it out of committee.
All RP has to do is formally request it.
The pressure has to come from the people.
Can you fill in the blanks, or are you just the negative imbecile your post makes you out to be?
Y-O-U aren't ever gonna get a better vehicle to be "Moderately Productive" through, so get off yer dumb ass and apply pressure, or quietly go away.
Just as a reminder, every single soul who has ever gone against the central bankers has been assassinated or survived an assassination attempt or 2 or 3.
And Y-O-U are disappointed because Ron Paul isn't single-handedly getting this bill passed while you sit on your ass watching You Tube clips, calling the effort dead before the fight starts.
BTW, this thread is shit.
