Watched this on Fox news this morning and angered me right off the bat for the day.

Julie believes that semi-automatics should be banned because they kill people. Being that almost all guns are semi-automatic this must mean that she wants all guns banned. Apparently single-shot weapons or knives, rocks, ball bats, etc. cannot kill people. Julie says that if armed guards were placed in her child's school, she would remove her child from the school because he is a toddler and doesn't know what is right and wrong about guns. What is she saying here, I think she is saying that she does not want her son to believe that guns are ok, but instead she wants to make sure her son grows up believing that guns are wrong and need to be banned from society. She wouldn't want her son to see that guns can be great in the hands of a responsible good person.
She says that she does not want guards in the school with guns because they cannot be trusted. I am sure that she trusts the police though and they carry guns. What is the difference between an armed officer at the school or in the general public. With her philosophy she should not allow her son in public either then, because there are armed police officers in the public. Shouldn't she want to get rid of armed police officers all together since she believes that guns are bad and people cannot be trusted to carry them. What about the military, should we ban all of their guns too, because there is no telling what the soldiers may do with them?
Julie says that her child will never be able to commit suicide because she does not have a gun in the house. I can easily see why her child may want to commit suicide by having a mother as stupid as that, but I don't think having a gun in the house would somehow convince the kid that he needs to kill himself. I don't think that the gun would try to talk him into it. Does Julie realize that guns are not the only tools used for suicide? Does Julie realize that people overdose on medications, ingest poisons, hang themselves, jump from high locations, use sharp instruments to cut their wrists, etc? Shouldn't Julie want all medicines, poisons, any thing rope like, high buildings and bridges and any sharp instruments all banned?
Why does Julie believe that semi-automatic guns are the only means to cause death? Does she actually believe that semi-automatic weapons have some type of magical power to convince people to kill? Does she believe that all murder and suicide will cease to exist if guns are banned? Does she believe that banning guns will make all mentally ill people well and make them loose the desire to kill? Well she is either misinformed or just plain stupid, but either way she is a liberal aka progressive that is part of a huge movement trying to make some big changes to this country. We need to be certain to vote against any liberal at any political level because they are all part of this movement that is driven by stupidity. Every little bit of power people like this get is a huge threat to all of our safety and way of life.
