Christie Suspends 2016 Campaign

Christie is a terrible candidate but a former prosecutor and his skills showed last week against Rubio. That was a tremendous take down.

I really don't get this concept of entering a race and quitting when you're not winning. It seems very sore loser to me.

Campaigns are very expensive to run and most of the lower tier candidates run out of money....fast. Even Rand was barely staying afloat.

And note they always just "suspend" and not actually declare an end to their campaign. That is so they can still fundraise- either to pay off campaign debt or to help fund other future campaigns (in Rand Paul's case his re-election bid).

It is basically a five person race right now- Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Bush, and Kasich. Bush looks weak(compared to his family results to date) but not weak enough to drop out. He has been below five percent nationally since December. Trump's numbers have declined a bit lately- he was about 35% nationally and is now down below 30%. Meanwhile Rubio has gone from ten percent to 17.8%.

Real race is Rubio. Cruz, and Trump.

This will allow other minor candidates to drop out who previously couldn't on account of being caught in Christie's field of gravity.

You would have thought Fat Tuesday would be his lucky day.

I heard on the radio that it "Sounds like Chris Christie is going to throw in the napkin."

christie was the jupiter of the stage. he held things together on the outer ends and deflected other promising asteroids (rand) from hurling into trump.
