Christie: Rand stands with 'criminal' Snowden

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (N.J.) is taking aim at likely 2016 rival Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) for opposing renewal of the Patriot Act, accusing him of siding with “criminal” leaker Edward Snowden.

Christie, a possible 2016 GOP presidential candidate, slammed Paul and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) for their vocal push to end the surveillance practices of the National Security Administration (NSA) that Snowden exposed to the world by releasing classified documents.

“He’s a criminal, he’s a criminal and he’s hiding in Russia, and he’s lecturing to us about the evils of authoritarian government while he lives under the protective umbrella of Vladimir Putin?” Christie said of Snowden on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.”

“That’s who Mike Lee and Rand Paul are siding with — with Edward Snowden?” he added. “Come on.”

Good thing that many American's don't think he's a Criminal.

This just highlights how out of touch Christie is with what is best for the Country.

Just trying to help Obama keep his campaign promise of a more transparent government.

Does Christie consider everyone who helps Obama keep a campaign promise to be a criminal?

This could lead to impeachment, except for one thing. Obama himself has never once tried to keep any of his campaign promises.

This obviously must have been a coordinated hit against Rand with Jindal attacking over Isis and while Christie hits with the patriot act. Their strategy? Sling enough shit at one time and hope something sticks...

This won't help him at all. The days of neocon talking points being the default safe position are OVER as evidenced by the Iraq war discussion that made Rubio and bush look like fools.

Keep it up Christie but you aren't going anywhere near the nomination

Chris Christie and Rand Paul... which one of them is being investigated for abuse of power? We report. You decide.

Isn't the old political adage something like "You never punch down"?

This is all good news for Rand.

Yes while i agree thats true, you know he's going to be asked again and again about his position in general aside from Jindal or anyone else and when this happens Rand has set himself up brilliantly by being able to respond by saying he tried to introduce a bill to deal with Isis but none of his opponents supported it. Of course he dont have to mention any names, but he can really come out looking very presidential in this since he at least tried to take initive on this while no one listened. I can see Rand possibly saving this for the debates to maximize its affect.

Oh, irony, wherefore art thou?
