Chris Peden says this on his website:

http://chrispeden.org/

"I am a proven conservative Republican; the incumbent is a self-described Libertarian. I support winning the Global War on Terror and the War on Drugs; the incumbent does not. I think Islamo-Fascist terrorists were responsible for the 9/11 attacks; the incumbent thinks America's Middle East policy's were responsible for the attacks. I support fully funding NASA's budget and the Vision for Space Exploration; the incumbent does not. I will support and vote for the Republican nominee for U.S. President in 2008, the incumbent will not (unless it's him."

I emailed him and asked if he supported Ron Paul and heard nothing back, yet. ;)

First I think we need to find some one that will run against him and beat him for District 14 in Galveston, TX. I am too young to.

Second, I think we should send him some mail explaining Ron Paul's positions, ( and the list he sent Guilliani), and just to let him know we are here.

"Please sign up for The Peden Perspective e-mail newsletter so I can keep you posted on campaign developments and if you have any questions/or comments, please send them to me at: [email protected]."

We need to prepare Ron for third party by backing someone to run for his congress seat.

Oh hell yes!!

Any Texans reading this that want to become a congressman without doing a damn thing to win your seat?

As long as Ron Paul is in public office I will continue to donate to his campaign.

Peden is from my hometown

too bad I lack the credentials at the moment, otherwise I would wipe the floor with this guy during a debate

You guys do realize that Ron Paul is currently running for that congressional seat as well don't you? Its only if RP wins the presidency that there would then be a special election that you would want to run in against this Peden doofus

just sent his campaign this email

Chris Peden,

Guess what? I don't live in your district. I live in Miami, FL. However, I can guarantee you...you will not take down the Ron Paul Revolution. People across the country will be supporting Dr. Paul's incumbency.

Good luck,

Philip Santa-Maria

=Barry Goldwater Republican

We know. Haha Just planning ahead for the big win or the big 3rd party win.

I really wouldn't worry much about him.

Fundraising slow for congressional candidate

By Sara McDonald

Published October 18, 2007

FRIENDSWOOD — U.S. Rep. Ron Paul raised more than six times the money for his re-election campaign this quarter than his primary challenger, Friendswood city councilman Chris Peden.

The four-term congressman for District 14 also ended the quarter with nearly $80,000 in the bank, compared with Peden’s diminutive balance, reported at less than $400.

Peden said he’s gone against the advice of consultants who told him to put his own savings in the account to make his campaign seem more serious.

“If my message isn’t credible, I don’t think it matters what my finances say,” he said. “I’ve been doing a lot of work getting that message out.”

Peden reported receiving $8,654 in contributions between June 30 and Sept. 30, $3,617 of which were personal loans. Paul’s campaign reported raising $53,030.40 in that time.

Those figures don’t include the $5 million Paul raised during the quarter for his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, some of which he could use toward his re-election campaign should he abandon the presidential race.

Paul’s congressional re-election spokesman, Mark Elam, said fundraising efforts were focused on the presidential races right now.

“We’re about to really start raising money for the congressional,” he said. “His opponent is not really going anywhere, though.”

Peden conceded the fundraising abilities Paul has, with nationwide name recognition, were far greater than a council member from one of the district’s mid-size towns.

“If that’s not a David and Goliath match, I don’t know what is,” he said.

Former Paul aide Eric Dondero, who previously said he would challenge Paul in the primary, endorsed Peden. League City resident Andy Mann also announced plans to run in the primary, but did not file a report.

response

Dear Laura,

Thank you for taking the time to write. Chris forwarded me your inquiry for a response. Chris is focused on bringing his message of conservative
results...for a change to the Republican primary voters of CD 14.

Like many conservatives, Chris sees positive points in all of our Republican candidates for President and feels that any of them would make a better President than the candidates the Democrats have offered up.

Chris has not narrowed his choice down to one person yet and as such has not endorsed any Republican candidate for President. However, Chris pledges to support, work for, and vote for the Republican nominee for President as chosen by the delegates in September.

What are the requirements to run for Congress? Senate? House? Mayor? Governor?

What the hell? Didn't you just start a thread saying RP's message isn't catching on and that basically we should just give up??

The negativity MUST stop! There is no way that we'll win if we think that we aren't going to win! No matter what the odds are, we must always say that we're going to come in first! Ron Paul will be the next President of the United States of America!
