Chris Hightower Enters the Race and Says why he's in it. (VIDEO)

It's pretty amazing... in 2008, we only had one liberty candidate. We are so fortunate to have a good number of them willing to run and do the work required to win.

And a lot of them seem to be in KY for some reason! :)

Pardon my ignorance. How did Kentucky get 41-91 million dollars in the hole? Is this typical of other states as well? I thought KY had a "balanced budget".
Why did Gov. Beshear once bemoan that States can't print money?

Apparently, you can "balance" the budget with bonds (debt.) And then every year, the Republicans brag how there wouldn't be a "balanced budget" without their super efforts to beat the "big-spending" Democrats - and the Democrats like the governor also brag about how they "balanced the budget." If I recall right, Forbes had an article pointing out that KY has the worst debt to GDP ratio of all the states.

Both parties are delusional and have a phobia of the truth. That's why we can't get anywhere on fixing it.

And that's why folks like Chris who tell it straight are our only hope of turning it around....

Sadly we are now issuing debt (bonds) to pay the interest on the accumulated debt (bonds). Its like maxing-out a credit card, then getting a new one to pay the interest payments on the maxed-out one. And continuing on like it's not a problem.

This is why I've said we have a debt-bomb that is set to detonate. It's simply unsustainable.

Thanks to Truth and The Tyke for the explanations.

Chris, I affectionately say I think you'll make a very effective Watchdog for the citizens of Kentucky.
