Chris Cornell, former Soundgarden singer, dies aged 52

The price for going from zero to five billion. A no one to worship. Bad deal. I'll tell you no writer, composer, singer, painter, play write, or sculptor created what they created in a vacuum of what they thought themselves limited to. "maddeningly frustrating" is right. Until you hit on it. There is nothing about you that would lead me to disbelieve that if you took up an instrument you could not give it hell. Pick up whatever you have a heart for. Nothing shameful in taking lessons. Life's getting too short for excuses. Die knowing at least one song played on one instrument.

Agreed. Learning just some basic stuff about music will change what you get from listening to it, particularly how one instrument contributes to the overall sound. Even the super-talented musician needs to know how to count, above everything else.

This is not a suicide song...damnit.

Not what Bob was talking about. I don't understand where his mind allowed doubts to the point of suicide. I can't imagine the self belief of burden his mind held. That all those left behind have no idea of. and might even consider themselves guilty when they are not. SMDH.

Yep. One hit album, and years of a cult following. But as long as you spout left wing politics, you get to move to the front of the line.

AiC is far more deserving. What about Iron Maiden?

You can make a similar claim for GnR as well. Discography (6 studio albums) wasn't long enough to merit Hall consideration.

I was a big fan of Public Enemy, but they shouldn't have been into the Hall either. They were a rap act.

FYI. This was the band that many consider the chief influence of the eventual Seattle grunge scene. They perfected the Drop D tuning that the Seattle bands eventually copied.

Was listening to Badmotorfinger yesterday. Never noticed it before, but could really hear the Kings X influence in the heavy guitar riffs on that album.

Possibly. Earlier in the thread...

Another death from mind altering, doctor prescribed drugs?

Lorazepam
Brand name: Ativan

Sedative
It can treat seizure disorders, such as epilepsy. It can also be used before surgery and medical procedures to relieve anxiety.

Controlled substance
Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination. Combining with other substances, particularly alcohol, can slow breathing and possibly lead to death.

Maybe now we can get some more traction on discussing Pharma meds impact on our brains.

Sorry, that is one of the most powerful lobbys in DC. There will be no honest discussion on this issue.

Nothing to see here...move along...don't forget your meds...
