Just imagine, for a moment, being told you need to lose weight by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Well, that is the situation that Air Force Brig. Gen. Michael L. Cunniff finds himself in this week after he reportedly ignored orders from the Pentagon to attend physical-fitness tests and get his weight under control.

Christie has given Cunniff, who leads the New Jersey National Guard, 90 days to meet the U.S. military’s fitness requirements.

“The Governor has expressed directly to the General that his failure to meet that standard or to provide notification of his formal reprimand is both unacceptable and disappointing,” Christie spokesperson Kevin Roberts said in a statement to ABC News. “The Governor has directed General Cunniff to meet his obligations in the next 90 days.”

Christie’s office has not said what the consequences will be if this does happen in time.

In a statement of his own, Cunniff vowed to take action to meet this goal: “Many people struggle with weight control — I am not immune from this. Just as I afford every opportunity to each Soldier and Airmen to meet these standards, so will I. I take this matter seriously and am taking the necessary steps to remedy this issue by being involved in a rigorous physical fitness training program and have sought the assistance of a nutritionist.”

Double standard. If the National Guard Leader were a female, he would be hit with a lawsuit right now and Hillary Clinton would be all over the news shouting about this injustice.

Tax Ticks treating each other poorly and being hypocrites...so, what's the "news" angle here?

/thread. This is all you really need to know. The angle is the M.I.C. in the Pentagon. The largest loobyist for the M.I.C. Hell, the Pentagon is the M.I.C. So what is their angle? Make Christie seem tough on the military? 'Cause Christie sucks him some "Policeman of the World" baton. Dunno. We shall see. I'm betting it's to show the power a governor can exert on the military he is in command of (N.G.). Thus, proving that he is ready for the big leagues. Dunno. Things play out. Everything in it's time.
