It's not the French that I'm worried will buy into Christie's bullshit, it's the morons that make up a significant amount of the GOP electorate that have me a bit concerned right now. Actually, there were suicide bomber near the stadium (not inside) who blew themselves up, while the match was going on. According to my german newspaper's homepage they caused 4 deaths - but 3 of them were the suicide bombers themselves... pretty noobish attack says my cynical mind. The soccer match (France vs Germany friendly match) was never paused or called off btw, even though the explosions were too be heard... good decision imo, so no panic broke out.

Over 90% of the death toll are the victims in the concert hall, then some 5 and 15 in 2 different street shootings.

He should respond by saying ISIS wouldn't exist if not for the policy of regime change that took the enemies of radical Islam out of power in Iraq and Libya and threatens an enemy of radical Islam in Syria. Does Christie support the overthrow of Assad in Syria? If he does then those deaths in Paris are on his (Christie's) head. Paul should quote pastor Franklin Graham, son of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, who said that Putin may be saving the lives of Christians by helping to prop up Assad because Assad is protecting Christians. Go on the offense on this. Don't put this in terms of "blowback." Rather put this in terms of the neocons keep funding supporting and funding radical Islam then turn around and tell us to fear radical Islam. ISIS isn't the "JV squad." ISIS is the Hillary squad. It's time to take the gloves off on that point.

Plus he needs to point out that ISIS shares the same ultimate goal as Chris Christy and other neocons when it comes to the overthrow of Assad. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Therefore Christy and ISIS are friends.

In terms of a possibility to win an election? No. But don't underestimate this. Christie is playing the role of a political hatchet man. His attack isn't about himself winning but about bringing Rand down. Consider him Rush Limbaugh on the campaign trail instead of in a radio studio. While I agree with your sentiment, that could play into the "Rand Paul is an isolationist" theme. It goes without saying that France has every right to go on the offensive. In fact I think that was established after the Charlie Hebdo attack. The question on the table is how should America respond. If the answer is "Well that's not our problem" that sounds callous, cowardly and isolationist. Besides, it is our problem because we created it and are sustaining it. Christy's answer is fund terrorists to overthrow Assad and restrict freedom in America because the terrorists hate us for our freedoms.
