My name is Dylan and I am an adherent of libertarianism, the ideas of which I believe are truly conservative, and a supporter of Representative Ron Paul, he of whom in the same manner I consider a true conservative. I'd like to be a bit careful with the information I put on the web because I know how powerful search engine crawlers can be, but I am an eighteen year old junior college student from San Diego, following a fall 2010 semester a sophomore by credit.

I started this ChipIn because being a college student living with a single parent, I lack the necessary funds to get to DC to vote for Ron Paul in the CPAC 2011 straw poll that opens on February 10th. I know many people in the movement are unfortunately unable to make it to CPAC because of school, jobs, prior commitments and various other hindrances. Therefore in their place, or in your place, I would love to be able to go to CPAC and represent a vote for Ron Paul.

I assure you that any money used in my goal of $300 will be used to send me to CPAC to support freedom's only viable choice. If I do not raise enough money and am unable to go, I will send back the funds to their respective donators, or if wished for by the donators to a fellow patriot in need of the money to get there.

How much is airfare?

On average with fees/tax $330, but there's one right now for $301 I'm looking at. These prices fluctuate though, so until I acquire the money for the ticket, I won't know, but my ChipIn amount is within the ball range. Lodging and food I think I can cover - not fully worked out yet, but I might be sharing a room with a few others on here, so the price would be split between us; for food I'm just gonna go with something cheap like McDonalds.

I have two points.

1.) Kyrie is an awesome guy who has been hanging in chat with us for awhile now. He is hardcore in his beliefs and is learning more every day and I think sending him to this event would be a fantastic way to get his feet wet with some real activism. Please help him with whatever you can spare.

2.) I made a point in another thread about how it was important for those within driving distance of D.C. to offer up your homes and vehicles for use by our own folks who will be travelling quite a distance. Kyrie and another activist will be staying in my home with me and will be commuting into the city with me daily to get the job done. So getting him to D.C. will actually work out cheaper than it will for your average chip-in which means it will not take nearly as much to get this done and secure one more vote for the good doctor. So again, I appeal to those of you in MD, VA, PA, DE or anywhere within about 2 hours of D.C. to please consider allowing some of the folks you know from the forums to stay with you and break bread with you and your family for the duration of the event so we can have all the votes and participation we need.

I think people need to have PayPal linked to a bank account for the widget to work. Tribute_13 had the same problem and posted updates in his thread... I'll keep an eye out for Kyrie to do the same.

Hey all, thanks to everyone in this thread for the generous contributions! I am at 270 right now, but have not accepted any of the transactions on PayPal yet because I'm having an issue with my bank account. That is why the ChipIn has not yet updated. I'm about to eat and then head out the door right now to the bank to get this cleared. Once that's done, I'm coming back to this thread. Thanks for the support guys. The grassroots here has truly amazed me. But I'd expect nothing less from Ron Paul 2012 supporters.
