Hello everyone.
1) We want to mimic what Harikaried did in this thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?359535-Nevada-result-by-precinct-%28Clark-Washoe%29-You-CAN-make-a-difference-at-the-caucus-%28easy%29!. For southwest Idaho this will be absolutely ideal, one county with 400,000 population will be all voting in the Taco Bell Arena basketball stadium in Boise Idaho. The neighboring county with about 200,000 population will be all caucusing at the Idaho Center in Nampa. These are two very big arenas, thousands are expected at each. This caucus day flier will be the same as Harikaried on front and additional things are on the back. to view this flier look here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/sckq3gqdmcef821/caucus day flier( About 40% of total state population in these two counties.
Phase one will have 10,000 fliers, we are quickly gathering the manpower to distribute these. If there are any left over another state can use them as there is nothing Idaho specific.
2) Phase 2 is a student targeted flier I made based on things that worked very well for me talking to people down town. I had a high success rate of people that claimed they would caucus. Just think why will some young people walk over broken glass to get to the caucus for Ron Paul and others could not care less? It is a lack of information. It is not the case that these people do not care about their futures, they just have not been presented with compelling enough information to care enough. We all know the mainstream media does not make this information very readily available, and neither does our education system. Today I handed out 30 of these student fliers to gage their effectiveness close to our BSU Ron Paul table. Only one person I approached said he did not want the flier. 1 person came back to the table about 30 minutes later and told us he had never voted before, he had heard some things about Ron Paul, but then he asked us how he could volunteer and help. About half of the people looked at the flier when I handed it to them, and started reading. This was a much better response then I anticipated. Let's get into the math of this strategy now.
In Washington State Mccain needed only 3200 votes to win the caucus in 2008. That is some low turnout for a state that has 4 times the population of Idaho!! So let's say it will take no more then 7000 votes to win Idaho, it is hard to estimate since this is our first caucus year, I tend to think that will lower turnout because people seem to have no idea about the switch to the caucus that I talk to. We will hand out the flier to 10,000 students at Boise State. Let's just say 1/20 people that get the flier show up to the caucus, and on average bring one person with them. That would be 1000 votes right there, pretty huge when you look at the total number of votes to win, but it could be lower then 7000 to win. Also the success rate of the fliers could be higher then that, I was really pleasantly suprised today. I know the fliers are a little lengthy, 1 page front and back, but I figure if the person is going to spend the hours necessary to vote at the caucus they better be willing to read a 5 minute flier!! In addition, they really need this information to both motivate them to go and to motivate them to convince others to come with them. Now let's look at the price per vote for phase 2 given the above assumptions. These 10,000 fleirs for students will cost me 500 dollars at kinko's, they are giving me a big discount because of this bulk purchase. That means 50 cents per vote. That is what I call efficient use of funds! For that same price if it could be perpetuated (just for argument sake) would win us Idaho for the total cost of $3500.
This combined with phase 1 of the plan could easily be the difference between a win and a loss. The local meetup people seem to really like the flier I made, I do not consider myself a particularly good writer, but I think it is effective. Here is a link to the student targeted flier. Talking to people 1 on 1 is great and all, but handing out fliers is so fast it is really a time efficient way to pick up votes. Students are everywhere you look on campus.
If we see that southern Idaho gets significantly more student turnout and percentage of the votes then the other parts of Idaho people that felt inclined to replicate this could do so in other states. I think phase 1 is a must do and proven strategy, I believe strongly phase 2 will be good bang for the buck even if only 1 in 100 people that read the flier follow through.
This is time sensitive, Kinko's told me it will take 3 days to get them all, once I make the order. So I really want to get the funding fast, I can use my own money but I am only willing to do so if you guys show that you will be able to fund it, I am not sure how to create a chip in. The total price quoted for the 20,000 fliers was 1000 dollars, not including tax. I can pay the 60 dollars in tax. Need just 1000 from you guys. You can start posting how much you are committed to donating in this thread before I figure out how to do the chipin. Here is the student flier I made:

I am on my way to Kinko's to make a sample copy of each flier to make sure everything is good in terms of ink not bleeding through the double sided fliers. They told me it should be fine but I want to be certain. hopefully this thread will garner some $$ action before I get back. I will be happy to take pictures of the stacks of fliers when I get them for proof. Also pictures of people handing them out at Taco Bell Arena and I am sure there will be Idaho people from this forum that can attest to them being handed out at the caucus locations. We will stand far enough away to not draw any ire while at the same time cover all in routes to the arenas. Remember this is time sensitive, we need some time to get the 10,000 fliers all handed out!
