My wife is not very political, but she watched the debate with me last night. She is not for or against Ron Paul at this time. In other words, she is somewhat neutral.

There was a point in which Fred Thompson spoke after Ron Paul, and he used the moment to belittle Ron Paul in an arrogant way. My wife asked me who Fred Thompson was. I explained briefly. When I was done, she said he seemed like a real asshole. The rest of the debate, she commented several times at how much of a jerk he seemed to be.

In short, Fred Thompson is not going anywhere. He is not electable. If he thought his arrogant demeanor would win over voters last night, I believe he has erred.

What a disgusting group--except for Ron Paul, of course.

Thompson doesn't even know what 'printing money' means.

I had the same impression last night. I felt that Dr. Paul was the professor, and these other guys were class clowns, trying to make each other laugh while ignoring the lesson.

Each time I watch these guys on t.v., I get the impression that "Nero is fiddling while Rome burns". Ron Paul talks about the root of our problems and how to fix them. These other clowns, they are appealing to the least among us... they aim their rhetoric at those voters that can be swayed by catchy sound bites that can be replayed on the media. It is so shallow.

I honestly believe that, while these guys make good politicians, I believe they are not very educated on how things actually work in our country. If they were educated, when Dr. Paul complains about Fiat money and inflation, they would all follow his comments with their agreement.

The fact is, I think we have a bunch of dumb asses running for president (Except for Dr. Paul) and if Dr. Paul doesn't catch on, I fear for our country.
