The usual disclaimer - not affiliated with the sites/companies listed
below, never used them before so I don't know how dependable they are,
etc. etc.

Now I understand, we seem to have learned from our Ron Paul efforts
than the blind/volume canvas route didn't appear to help us much. I
think a few things happened: 1) "BigMedia" was against us 2) There
were a lot of "well-known" choices. With Sabrin, we should have
1) Media on our side (is there another Republican in the race with
Murray for the primary or is Murray on the ticket for November already
- you'd think I know - in either case - MAYBE if local media covers
the NJ Senate race, they'll mention Dr. Sabrin)
and
2) There are only 2 choices Sabrin or the other guy (or in the
primary, still Sabrin or the other guy). "they" hopefully can't
ignore him in a two man race.

So.....

10,000 8.5"x11" Color Front and Back Flyers $395 --

1,000 2"x3.5" "Indoor" Magnets $150 --

1 Vinyl 8'x3' Vinyl Front and Back Banner $130 --

Maybe Joe D can get a good flyer designed/approved for us by the
Sabrin camp and we can have it printed on our own and get it
distributed? Those magnets are GREAT for door to door canvassing
because you can talk to people, if they seem interested, give them a
magnet for their fridge and they'll see the name/remember to go vote
when the time comes.

MAYBE.... what we should be doing to get attention is putting together
a "goody bag" type of thing that we can give to people and/or leave on
doors. For example, something like this:

http://www.custombagexpress.com/bb_printtype.cfm - claims "as low as
$.02/bag - no idea what kind of bag that implies - I'm thinking those
little plastic bags with the little handle that make it easy to hang
the bag on a door or make it easy for someone carry if you hand it to
them on a street corner.

Then do like "free" business cards:
http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/ns/stu...%2F21%2F2008+11%3A41%3A43+AM#doc_id=521541323
250 "free" ones each - even if we pay Staples/Officemax/kinkos for
cards - they are relatively cheap

Include like custom balloons - http://www.balloonimprinters.com/ -
2000 x Custom Imprinted Balloons . . . . $259 Logo Imprinted On Two
Sides Add $45 - total $304

And then fill said bag with a flyer, a magnet, a business card, and
maybe a balloon for the kids to play with? Suppose we did this:
bag: $0.10 (high estimate?)
double sided color flyer: $0.04
Magnet: $0.15
Business card: $.0.05 (high estimate?)
Balloon: $0.16

So your total cost per "bag" is "only" about $0.50 each - which means
with about $5000 you can reach about 10,000 somethings (homes or
people, whichever way you want to look at it) with information about
Sabrin.

In either case, what I propose is that we start preparing materials
and a plan NOW, and then do a group effort later - ie, we should plan
something big for one (or both) of these days:
Memorial Day - May 26th
Independence Day: Friday July 4th (lets plan for an all weekend assault!)

I know that here in my hometown of Long Branch "Oceanfest" on 4th of
July weekend is a HUGE thing. Tens of thousands of people walking up
and down the boardwalk which is "only" 4-5 miles long - and most of
these people are from some part of NJ (some cross over from NY) and
thanks to redevelopment of Pier Village, there is a good mix of the
high-falutIn' types, average working class joe types, and the "we're
looking for free samples and handout" types. I believe that you're
supposed to/able to buy a booth on the boardwalk although from reading
the Long Branch city code - it seems like distribution of flyers on
public property is permitted so we could always just hijack some space
on the boardwalk.

Now the *WE* part. I personally *THINK* that the *WE* part needs to
be *A LOT* of a us. AT LEAST 100 people (bring the kids, the dog, the
spouse, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, etc). NOTHING ATTRACTS A CROWD
LIKE A CROWD.
If there are 100 people standing around a "Sabrin booth" and we can
get some kind of Murray Sabrin speech videos to play on a TV or maybe
even Murray Sabrin himself just chit-chatting live in person and 100
of us agree to just stand and listen - crowds will see the crowd and
have to take a peak, at which point, any one of us 100 can engage them
with the "this guy is good" comment and feel them out as a potential
voter - point them to the "free" goody bag. Now, we've got the person
to listen for a few minutes and they'll be walking around with our
Murray Sabrin bag - which other people will see and wonder what it
is/where they got it/whats in the bag. Since there are a lot of kids
there - having a ballon in the bag gives the kids something to play
with, which other kids will want and parents will see the name on the
balloon. If we could get a helium tank and additional balloons to hand
out - that's even better. IF we have a booth - maybe (don't know the
laws/rules) we can even get people to fill out voter registration
forms and such right there if they need. No idea if we could even get
someone from the campaign to come and take official donations to the
campaign?

At this point, I'm all for writing Ron Paul's name in, going the
delegate route, etc, but am willing to face the realization that a Ron
Paul presidency is a missed opportunity and I believe we NEED to keep
the Revolution moving and for us in NJ, Dr. Sabrin is the next step in
that movement. Keep in mind also, Dan M and I are seriously
considering congressional runs in district 12 and 6 respectively and
I'm lead to believe that there are some people in the cherry hill/201
group considering the same. I'll be heading to a GOP reception thing
in Freehold next Monday (the 25th - anyone else going?) to try to feel
this out and get the green lights from the party big shots in this
area. If things seem to go well, having such a booth could benefit
Sabrin and anyone else (self-included) considering such a run. Again
the key IMO is to have a *CROWD* surround this booth and have
something "free" to give out which advertises itself. I've seen those
12oz water bottles custom printed with company logos and such - MAYBE
we can consider even getting those and selling them - use any profits
to cover our costs and donate the profits to the Sabrin camp - or just
sell them at our cost, no profit - just because people will come get
the cheap water bottles and other people will see the Murray Sabrin
water bottle, etc.

I'm sure there are other HUGE events coming up in NJ for these
holidays - lets figure out a real plan and try to work through Joe to
get approvals from the Sabrin camp and get the largest possible
presence of ourselves to start a crowd - our crowd will draw a bigger
crowd and it'll snowball.

Some other HUGE events I can think of we should aim for:
NJ State Fair? - Meadowlands NJ - Giant Stadium? - I know no details -
never been there - lets figure it out.
Each County ALWAYS has a fair - ie, Monmouth County Fair in Freehold -
been there once - let's figure out the date/details of each county
fair.
Any big Monmouth Park race events this year?
When is the APP "yard sale" at Monmouth Park?
When are the Jet-Car National races at Englishtown Raceway Park? (as a
redneck drag racer myself - I'm sure MOST race fans are fellow gun
owners and might like Sabrin)
Any big events at Wall raceway? (never been there, not into the Oval racing)
Any big events at Freehold Raceway? (horse racing)

I firmly believe that the way to get votes will be to get face time
with people - show up everywhere people show up and give them stuff.
We're in a small enough state where even if there are only 100 of us
willing to take the time to be the "crowd" at each of these events,
nothing is more than an hour and half drive for any of us - we need to
support each other in our local towns and state wide and asking
someone to drive an hour or so to be a crowd for a few hours doesn't
seem like much to ask.

Lets start to figure this thing out - we can't wait for the last
minute again and expect people to know and vote for Dr. Sabrin. Let's
get organized, plan now, gather materials now, get booths or whatever
else we need now, and doing the work later will be much easier than
handing out 1500 flyers door to door in cold water was.

I think to action items/TODOs are:
1) List the possible places (think BIG events - not 100s, but 1000s of
people) and the costs/contact information for the event
2) List the possible materials and their costs to distribute (business
cards, flyers, balloons, door hangers, bags, water bottles, kites,
lollipops, whoknowsbecreative)
3) Co-ordinate with the Sabrin camp so that we don't setup shop in a
place they are already setting up shop.

We also need to figure out how to gather funds for our effort - if we
start planning now - and even 100 of us can put aside $20/week for
about 3 months/12 weeks (end of Feb, March, April, start of May) we'd
have about $24,000 to spend on materials. At $0.50/goody bag I
proposed, that could be 48,000 bags to distribute. Not bad if we had
48,000 bags to distribute Memorial Day weekend (think anyone on the
Jersey shore - Point Pleant, Seaside, Belmar, etc) If we kept up that
momemtun and could run that same number (in half the time - end of
May, June) for July 4th weekend - that would be HUGE. Maybe if we
coordinate with the Sabrin camp - MAYBE there would be some financial
advantage to donating the money to the campaign - let the campaign buy
the materials in bulk (and maybe work out some kind of discount or
something for the cause) and if they get the materials back to us - we
could do the ground work for them.

So rally the troops and get your boots shined- the missions are being
planned and we'll need to be on the ground battling for votes all
summer long. A HUGE win is what we need, not a 51/49 win - we need a
"make no mistakes about it, we've got the power now" 80/20 win. I'm
ready to accept that we lost the Ron Paul presidency battle - but the
war has just begun and we can certainly win this battle.
