Rifle length gas system. the 1/7 twist barrel is far more versatile in terms of types of ammo used - from 62 grain to 77 grain. The 1/9 twist barrels are limited from 55 to 69 grain bullets. YMMV, but either rifle choice appears to be a good deal, and CMMG is a good company to deal with.
