Absolutely, if someone puts there hands on you unprovoked you have everyright to defend yourself. Granted this old fart would have got a bye, but had it been someone of younger age I couldn't say that he wouldn't have got the shit knocked out of him. It's bad enough reading about their dirty tactics, but now reading they're turning to voilence is taking this to a whole new level and should not be tolerated. At the least a police report should have been filed just to get this bs out there. Not that that would happen anyway, but maybe a better chance of it.

I personally think charges would be filed too. (by Romney supporters)
At least it shows the amount of respect either side has for the process or morality in general. Which isn't looking very good for the other side..
