We still need 20,372 people or about 784 people per day between now and midnight, September 2nd.

Is there no way to boost membership and reach the goal? It's slower than molasses right now.

yah

tell your family/friends that never dove into the politics/philosophy but were supporting RP because you were and it sounded good (sad but true, lol)

IMO it seems nobody wants to be creative and get this done. There's probably a way to get those members, but nobody is excited enough to do it.

would it have helped if he would have made the goal for after the rally?
I thought we would be there by now, though. I'm sure he thought that with one million votes he would have been also.

How about an ad?

Or change the end of High Tide and put "Campaign for Liberty" at the end - someone suggested that for Ron's book, but I don't think anyone actually got around to doing it.

Would it be hard to change the last part of the ad?

The ad has been changed, atleast on the rallyfortherepublic site.

I think they will get a bunch to sign up at the actual rally. But it does show that we all need to do more

Ill announce something...
The RI meetup came up with a great idea. A High Tide Movie preview shown to a target Audience. 1,000,000 views in 2 weeks should do the trick! The movie it will be shown at is I.O.U.S.A.! We should start a chipin for $24,000 instead of waiting for the CFL to decide!

I'm doing my part by sending members of traffic exchanges to visit campaignforliberty.com

That's actually a good idea. Making deals with the larger movie theatre chains to run this ad at the IOUSA showings.

Scope of Reality

I think we would boost membership post-Rally if our goal was just 75,000 which is still a large hefty number for an organization which hasn't been officially announced yet. We have already met that number a month early.

There's really no reason to join. If there were, there would be several hundred members already.

The CFL is ethereal at this point. What would we tell people if they asked "Why should I join?"

I think they were just relying on people who supported Ron Paul in the first place to make that 100k mark.

People need to have a reason to join, and if there isn't one they are gonna assume it is some sort of scam.

I've run into this problem in trying to get one of my friends to join-- "What's the point, it's a number on a website. We gave them plenty of money during the campaign and they dropped the ball. What the hell difference is 100,000 people in an email list going to make?"

So if we extrapolate that out, maybe some people are still angry with how the PCC was run. My counter to that argument is, "well, it can't hurt".

Months after being informed of some people's concerns, they still haven't added an option to not have your name and location displayed on the widget. There really is no excuse for it. I hope the lack of responsiveness on this issue isn't indicative of the professionalism of the CfL as a whole.
