The missing quote? Well revised article.

The only dissenting vote in the short House debate on the bill was voiced by GOP presidential aspirant Ron Paul (news, bio, voting record) of Texas. He described the bill as "a flagrantly unconstitutional expansion of restriction on the exercise of the right to bear arms."

Interesting ... They DID edit it out.
Notice that the text removed still appears in the google searches:

but when you follow the link those words are no longer in the article.

They did edit him out, what wack jobs, we will burn them down in few years

I was listening to NPR in radio, when they reported on the bill, they def mentioned Ron Paul, and had his clip played.

update from LewRockwell blog

AP pulls the Ron Paul quote from the later versions of this article, but that censorship strategy is not quite so easy with the Internet. (Thanks to C.J. Watson.)

UPDATE: Writes Bob Schlereth: "I just phoned Jim Abrams at AP to ask him about removing the reference to Ron Paul. He claimed it was a space consideration!"

Very sharp for spotting that. So disgusting! Ron is the only one telling the truth, and his statement gets edited out. AP hires liars.

Screw our other Congressman! They are liars and obviously don't care about our Constitution. We have a gang of 534 ruling our lives.

Cheers to Ron Paul, liberty, and getting our Republic back!

How shocking. I never knew the MSM did that.

Actually what really bothers me is how they control the country more than any institution in the world and controls everything from schooling, politics, to how the world looks at religion.

The scary part, to me, was *not* removed from the article:

-- "We've always been vigilant about protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens to purchase guns, and equally vigilant about keeping the guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally defective and people who shouldn't have them." --

* Why is US domestic gun-control policy "news" in China?
* Whose definition of "law-abiding" is in use, ours or China's?
* Whose definition of "mentally defective" is in use, ours or China's?
* Whose definition of "shouldn't have (guns)," ours or China's?

But the new version is just as long, if not longer.

Hate to break it to ya but EVERY American news story is reported in China. (except those the gov. censors for domestic reasons).

This is how it is everywhere in the world. American news is just as important as local news and is reported as such. The visa versa is not true here because there is not a great enough concentration of political/economic/social/etc power anywhere else.

Check out China State run news, they absolutely love American pop culture. I know this is a different subject but I personally believe they promote it because it "dumbsdown" the populace and keeps them worried about Paris Hilton instead of Politics/philosophy, especially liberty.

Version mentioning Ron: 785 Words; 4,759 total characters incl. spaces

Version w/o mentioning Ron
due to 'space considerations': 1,056 words; 6,406 total characters incl. spaces

Space consideration...yeah, that's the ticket!
