And those were the lucky ones. The German women who stayed behind in the east were gang raped by the Soviets. An estimated 2 million women were raped relentlessly under orders from the Kremlin gang. Many committed suicide.

The full story finally came out in the 1990's. Sickening stuff.

The Soviets killed millions of their own troops (POWs) after the war. Stalin considered Russians who were captured as traitors.

I had not heard about this ship sinking. Just awful.
