CDC is bringing Ebola patient to Emory University in Atlanta

How about not ingesting the virus? It isn't voodoo. If you don't have physical contact with an infected person or their "effluent", you are safe.

unless the virus has mutated and gone airborne, in which case we're fucked and bringing it here this way could be the vector for said fucking

deliberately bringing a contagious, fatal disease over an ocean it could not cross on its own is an extraordinarily foolish - perhaps even "criminally insane" is appropriate here - move

1st, and excuse my cursing.... But why the FUCK are we importing Ebola into our country.

The following is a true story. This patient landed about 20 miles from our house. My wife was freaked out enough that she called our Congressman.

Our Congressman stated, there was nothing he could do, thanks for calling, I understand the concern... But, this is a State issue, take it up with them.

Soooo, the wife called the Govenor's office. Similar story... We hear you, but there is nothing we can do, this is a CDC manner, they are Federal, so take it up with them.

Soooo, the wife called the CDC... She got a nice lady on the phone that read her a prepared speech and then promptly refused to answer her questions.

Soooo, the wife called the news media, who said they were doing a story, would she liked to be interviewed on camera. She told them "no, you'll edit it to make it look like I don't care about the victims and it won't address my concern... Namely, this person was TRAINED how to deal with this virus, yet still got it... How can we be sure that it won't escape here and why are we importing a virus with an extremely high mortality rate yet people aren't allowed on planes with TB."

Guy chuckled and responded "yeah, your probably right".

All of the above is true, without embellishment.

The inmates are running the asylum.

FoxNews participates in the big cover-up about the Ebola virus!

FoxNews is inaccurately reporting that the Ebola virus cannot be transmitted through the air. This is a big lie!

Ebola transmission by aerosols confirmed: virus survives for days outside infected hostsf

In fact, a 2012 BBC article entitled "Growing concerns over 'in the air' transmission of Ebola" states: (3)

Canadian scientists have shown that the deadliest form of the ebola virus could be transmitted by air between species. In experiments, they demonstrated that the virus was transmitted from pigs to monkeys without any direct contact between them. In their experiments, the pigs carrying the virus were housed in pens with the monkeys in close proximity but separated by a wire barrier. After eight days, some of the macaques were showing clinical signs typical of ebola and were euthanised.

I would like to see a better source than Natural News make that claim. I followed the imbedded link in their article to the study but can't find the information they said is there concerning airborne transmission.

It does say:
and airborne spread among humans is strongly suspected, although it has not yet been conclusively demonstrated

That is not exactly "Confirmed".

Here is something from the CDC.

Ebola-Reston appeared in a primate research facility in Virginia, where it may have been transmitted from monkey
to monkey through the air. While all Ebola virus species have displayed the ability to be spread through airborne
particles (aerosols) under research conditions, this type of spread has not been documented among humans in a
real-world setting, such as a hospital or household.

Science has in fact confirmed the virus can be transmitted through the air! Whether or not this applies to humans has not yet been confirmed, nor has it been ruled out! Would you be comfortable to allow an infected person cough into your face?

What about the pig pen effect?

Just for a moment lets get past the patents and think a little about the way people are spreading contamination globally. Not only are all of the supplies being used turning into a heap of stuff that needs to be dealt with, what about everyone and their brother needing samples for testing purposes? That shit is being spread far and wide.

It would still worry me if it was being handled by real ass holes in regards to safety. Hearing the bleeding hearts ranting about how we have nothing to worry about and knowing they are prancing around working in the field just freaks me out to no end.

I'm afraid if it was up to me Gupta would be cooling his heals in quarantine for some time. Sure on the one hand he was bringing some awareness. On the other it seemed to be foolhardy to go right in amongst it for ratings. It didn't seem to me to be worth the risk to us to take the unnecessary risk. If it was only him he was involving that would be his risk to evaluate.

Then again I've been hearing the Ebola stories for years. Trust me. It's on the move.

That would be rude.

Dont we have rural, less populated facilities for this kind of situation? Or some kind of island or ship lab?

There is an epidemic in the U.S. It is called insanity. There is no reason to bring these people into the US. Any treatment or testing can be done by taking meds or equipment to them.

Because of the risk of "terrorists" in the U.S., our Constitution is in shreds, our rights are eroded, we live in a virtual Police State, our treasuries are drained, we are deep in debt and wars rage around the world, all to keep us "safe".

Yet a deadly disease is brought into the U.S., one that has proven it can be spread to professional Doctors practicing modern techniques. There is no guarantee whatsoever that it can't be spread. There is no guarantee that some kind of accident or mistake will cause it to break containment. Has it mutated to become airborne? Has it mutated to take advantage of a vector host, such as the mosquitoes that carry malaria, west nile, chikungunya or dengue virus? What is the benefit that warrants this risk taking by our government?

World Health Organization warns Ebola virus could be world-wide catastrophic event!

See: Ebola 'moving faster than efforts to control it': WHO warn virus could spread to other countries causing 'catastrophic' loss of life

August 1, 2014

”The spread of the deadly Ebola virus is out of control and the effects could be ‘catastrophic’, the World Health Organisation said last night.

The outbreak of the disease, the worst since it was discovered in the mid-1970s, has so far caused 729 deaths in four different countries.

At the moment its spread is contained to West Africa, but there are growing fears that it could hit the UK.”

The Obama Administration is employing the same tactics used by Hamas. They hide behind woman and children while flooding our country with the poverty stricken populations of other countries!

Arrived today.

So, we are supposed to "trust" the same medical establishment that gets over 90,000 people killed every year through "medical mistakes and misadventure", that can't handle MRSA outbreaks, and just recently "misplaced" a bunch of anthrax spores?

Mehhhh, color me "unconvinced".

American doctor infected with Ebola returns to U.S.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...0a27cc-1995-11e4-9e3b-7f2f110c6265_story.html

An American doctor stricken by Ebola in West Africa arrived home for treatment in Atlanta on Saturday, and U.S. government officials are urging the public to remain confident in the health-care system’s ability to keep the deadly disease isolated.

A charity organization, Samaritan’s Purse, said two Americans in serious condition with the disease were being evacuated: Kent Brantly, a Fort Worth doctor who had been treating Ebola victims in Liberia, and Nancy Writebol, a missionary from Charlotte.

Brantly and Writebol have been hospitalized in serious condition in Monrovia, the Liberian capital. Brantly was brought back to the United States first, in a specially equipped “air ambulance” aircraft that landed Saturday at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, in the northwest Atlanta suburbs, according to news reports.

He was being taken to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, which has one of four facilities in the country designed to handle such cases.

Once at the hospital, one person in white protective clothing from head to toe climbed down from the back of the ambulance and a second person in the same type of hazmat-looking suit appeared to take his gloved hands and guide him toward a building at Emory, the Associated Press reported.

The plane with the infected doctor stopped in Bangor at 7:30. My kids and my mother flew out of Bangor at 6:55.

I don't care how small the risk is, I think this needs to stay in Africa.

begs the question of why you would put such a facility inside a city of 4 million people, rather than out in the wilderness where contagion would be far less likely

Ever flown into Atlanta?

Seems like a good place to store/treat toxic diseases....

So let's help it along by dragging it into the United States.

This is what really does not make any kind of logical.
Quarantine Everything near an outbreak..

There is no reason an advanced medical unit could not be there and set up within hours of first knowing of such an outbreak.

There is absolutely no good reason why the person could not be treated right where they were. And even less reason to bring an contagious and malignant disease infected individual into a populated area.

That is an incredible danger. It shouldn't happen. You would want to prevent that from happening.
