CDC is bringing Ebola patient to Emory University in Atlanta

I haven't gotten a feel for whether the Ebola craze lately is more empty hype like SARS and H1N1 or whether this is a serious concern. Having said that, I don't see why an infected Ebola patient (American or not) would be brought back to the US for 'treatment', seeing how there is no actual treatment protocol for the disease other than lots of fluids and prayers. Seems like an unnecessary risk at the least.

Emory University Hospital is expected to receive a patient infected with the deadly Ebola virus within the next several days, the university announced Thursday.

It’s unclear when exactly the patient will arrive, according to a statement from Emory. The Clifton Road hospital has a specially built isolation unit to treat patients exposed to certain serious infectious diseases. Set up in collaboration with the Atlanta-based U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the unit is physically separate from other patient areas and is one of only four such facilities in the country.

Atlanta's mayor was at Bilderberg this year.

Is it clear yet that they are either complete morons or purposefully evil?

This is the most idiotic, stupid thing I've ever seen/heard.

We're soooo screwed

To help him/her?

or to weaponize it?

There is no good reason to transport a person with a contagious disease halfway around the world when there are facilities and treatments there.

I am leaning towards, they are evil.

They can declare a medical emergency and take all our liberties away, all at the stroke of a pen.

Sounds to me like the CDC is scared shitless that the disease has mutated and become, say, more easily transmissible, and so are desperate to see what exactly is going on with the virus, and see if there is a risk of it spreading worldwide. The reason I think it has mutated and become more transmissible is: a) the death rate is significantly lower than previous breakouts, (60% compared to 90+%), which I think indicates a mutation/change in the virus, and b) these 2 American doctors got the disease in spite of wearing protective suits, which would isolate them from infected individuals bodily fluids (bodily fluids are the way ebola has spread in previous outbreaks), which makes me think that the virus could be transmitted in other ways. Also note that although the death rate is lower, the absolute number of deaths is way higher than previous outbreaks.

Why keep the infected individual hidden deep within Raccoon City's underground "Resident Evil" labs while the public panics and foams at the mouth over this?

It would be an even greater "safety PR" win to have a national bus tour that moves the person around on tour, stopping at all big cities and at our largest population centers airports, schools and shopping centers for all sorts of "live" TV interview/transmissions. This would show that the experts are confident the is no chance the disease could be spread from casual contact and there is really nothing to fear but fear its self.

LOL, it's not like someone is going to eat the infected individual like some sort of fruit bat wing or monkey meat, right? (its probably perfectly safe if the meat is warmed up to 180 degrees for 3 minutes anyhow).

What could go wrong? (watch 28 Days, and 28 Weeks Later)

Other than "strengthening" the immune system, are there any known herbal/holistic protection approaches to not getting this virus?

Does it have a 100% infection rate IF one comes in contact with it, or are some "immune" to it?

Oddly enough, people who have mutations in the gene NPC-1, which codes for a surface protein on cells, are immune to all filoviral infections. It appears this protein is the docking site for ebola to enter the cell. Unfortunately, mutations in this gene are also associated with morbid obesity in patients.

Most of Atlanta is immune then.

This is something I would like to know too.

Of course, this day in age they aren't looking for your standard "increase vitamin A" type results - they're going straight for western medicine/big pharma "miracles".

At the moment there is nothing that can protect you from Ebola other than a good immune system and prayers. But I don't fear Ebola as much as I fear the state.

It's got to be "sugared gummy fruit-bat wings" for Halloween candy this year.

I plan to keep the excess weight on, just to be safe!

I read somewhere about selenium or colloidal silver.

How about not ingesting the virus? It isn't voodoo. If you don't have physical contact with an infected person or their "effluent", you are safe.

Wait . . . Atlanta? Georgia? Georgia Guidestones? Depopulating the world? Run! Hide! Die anyway!
