Michele Bachmann Caught hiding in bushes...What a coward!

Early in her state Senate career Bachmann was caught spying on a pro-gay-rights rally by hiding behind bushes.
But one of Eleventh Avenue South's eagle-eyed readers happened to catch something rather strange that day - it turned out that Michelle Bachmann had gone to take a look at the rally, but, obviously feeling very frightened of the scary homosexuals, decided to hide in some bushes.

It would be interesting to know the full circumstances behind this.

If they were protesting her or something that she had done then she absolutely didn't want to let them know she was there. Perhaps she was just walking to work and saw the crowd and didn't want to get spotted? Maybe she was waiting for a security escort?

If I saw an a crowd that was unfriendly to me I wouldn't want to get in the middle of them either....

here is an example:

I doubt the circumstances matter, it's too comical to care. Wow.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....*breathes*...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

From "EXCLUSIVE Bachmann Footage at Rally" April 8, 2005

Today Minnesota Senator Michele Bachmann thought it would be fun to circumvent the Senate Committee process and force a floor vote of the amendment to end domestic partnerships, and ban civil unions and same-sex marriage while we were outside rallying for our rights. Even Senate Republicans thought it was in poor taste to try to go around Senate rules on the same day GLBT citizens were making their voice heard. Her move was overwhelmingly defeated:

"The state Senate on Thursday rejected an effort to force a floor vote on a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage as thousands of ban opponents rallied outside the Capitol. Sen. Michele Bachmann, the Stillwater Republican who's led the push for the ban, said Senate Democrats have denied her repeated efforts to get the bill heard. Senate leaders countered that Bachmann, a candidate for the U.S. House, is flouting Senate rules to advance her own political career. At the same time, about 2,500 gays, lesbians and their supporters attended a rally on the Capitol grounds just a few hundred yards away, organized by OutFront Minnesota."

After the move didn't pan out, Michele took to hiding in the bushes to watch the queers rally. A reader tip:

"I know you're no fan of Michele. And therefore, you might be
interested in a few pics I took at the JustFair rally on Thursday of
her hiding behind the bushes watching us from afar before I scared her away with the camera."

Posts like this burn a lot of bridges This is a sure way to infuriate former Bachmann supporters into never voting for RP as their second choice by using smears from the progressive socialist, democratic underground to bring her down.

lOL! , you have GOT to be kidding. She didn't just walk the other way, that's a full squat on a public street, with company!

Sure, maybe there's more to it, but unless she's playing hide and seek with a four year old, I'm having a hard time coming up with anything that covers it.

I don't know, I think this is funny. If people had a picture of Ron squating in some bushes like that, they'd laugh at it too. Heck, I'D laugh at it.

True. But if people want to attack fellow conservatives by smearing them with pictures (and in particular, ones pushed by the far-left of all people), then they should be ready to receive the same treatment. Anyone remember this embarrassing moment:

I agree. It's pretty low class.

doesn't something have to be false to be a smear? Nobody forced her to hide in the bushes.

The only place I could find more info on this is a blog called 'Dump Bachmann'. They reference an article by the Minneapolis Star Tribune but I don't have time right now to look it up. From the blog:

Talk radio and websites in Minnesota have been abuzz with speculation this week over all these matters, even as Senate DFL leaders canceled a floor session Tuesday at which Bachmann had been expected to try once again to force a vote on the marriage amendment.

For her part, she says the stories have been blown out of proportion for political effect.

"Anything to make me look odd is to their advantage," she said of her opponents. "I don't want to fuel anything. I'd rather not talk about it."

These facts could be confirmed on Tuesday: Bachmann was obscured by bushes Thursday on the Capitol lawn from a photographer whose snapshots are posted at dumpbachmann.blogspot.com, but she wasn't hiding. Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Sven Lindquist, who accompanied her on a 15-minute scouting mission around the gay-rights rally, said she was simply sitting on a curb.

"I had high heels on and I just couldn't stand anymore," Bachmann said. "I was not in the bushes."

She said she had ventured out, against Lindquist's advice, to check a tip that "I was going to be a focus of the rally." Sure enough, she found, "it was fairly personal," including a sign reading "Go to hell, Michele."
