Carson Shelves Public Campaign Events to Sell Books

Republican presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson has put his public campaign events on hold for two more weeks to go on book tour for his new tome “A More Perfect Union” and catch up on fundraising events.

The campaign has been careful to separate campaign events and the book tour, and doesn’t want to classify the tour as related to the campaign in any way.


This week he is catching up on fundraising events and will be back on his book tour next week making stops in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. So for the next two weeks, Carson won't be appearing at any public "campaign events."

Carson will be going back and forth between campaign fundraising events and book tour events over the next two weeks. His campaign says he has over 20 campaign fundraising events scheduled over that time period.

The campaign says the next time they will appear publicly with Carson will be the day of the next GOP debate on Oct. 28. His last public campaign event was Oct. 2.

I suppose passing Mr. Dr. Ben Carson MD a few greenbacks across his palm is one of the few things that keeps him awake.

Trump hit it on the head when he said that Carson lacked energy. I saw a Sunday morning interview with him where he had his eyes closed for most of the interview.

I suggest that Mr. Dr. Ben should wear dark glasses like Stevie Wonder.

Unfortunately, his book tours and campain tools had come to abrupt end. Hopefully Carson is not just pretending to run like Cain.

Well now you know why he is running, to cash in with a book. I never thought he was a serious candidate.

A person making a serious effort to be potus doesn't stop campaigning and sell books.

This isn't what happened in my town. He had a book tour bus and a campaign bus...yes the campaign bus was not on the book store property but across the street, but they had 2 booths selling his hats, shirts, etc. and where handing out the campaign books, which the staff at the bookstore called "campaign materials" so you couldn't get them signed. Also, you couldn't even hand the books to him to sign (they grabbed them and wouldn't let you close) or say hello, much less take a picture with him. In fact, when you passed back by on the way out, you got yelled at if you tried to stop to take his picture. (Don't worry...I didn't buy a book..it's just that candidates never come here, so I took my kids to see a live candidate and a man that I think deserves respect for what he's accomplished, even if he doesn't have my vote.) He is not separating the 2 at all in my opinion.
