Ben Carson: I Didn’t Want To Endorse Trump, But He Promised Me A Position
Dr. Ben Carson, who endorsed Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy on Friday, appears less than enthusiastic about that decision.
And the real reason the unsuccessful GOP presidential hopeful endorsed his former rival could be a violation of federal law.

Carson told the conservative online site NewsMax TV on Monday that he backed Trump based on a practical calculus
.
Carson then said that Trump had promised him a role in his administration, “certainly in an advisory capacity.”
Asked by NewsMax’s Steve Malzberg whether this meant a cabinet position, Carson declined to “reveal any details about it right now,
because all of this is still very liquid.”

Federal law expressly prohibits candidates from directly or indirectly promising “the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy.” The penalty for violations could include fines or a year in jail — two years if the violation was willful.

Well there goes what's left of Ben Carson's credibility. Sad. I really liked the guy.

I guess he'll need someone who can directly communicate with God to tell him which Middle Eastern or Asian countries to bomb/pillage in His name next.

In the last (UMiami) debate Trump brought up Ben Carson (and how he was going to endorse the next morning) while The Don was talking about his plans for Education department . . .

looking for tube . . .

The New York billionaire was asked by moderator Jake Tapper what his specific issues were with Common Core when he pivoted to Carson.

Trump : "I was with Dr. Carson today, who by the way is endorsing me tomorrow morning and we spoke for over an hour on education.
He wants alot of different things that are terrific"

I feel really sad for Carson supporters. Especially those who were so passionate, thinking that this was a decent, compassionate human being with great intentions for a faithful, conservative direction for the country. He seemed to have integrity and sincerity.

This news has to absolutely shake their world.

I think Carson resembles trump more than people would like to admit - uninformed and not quite sure where he was on issues. But rather than spitting out whatever came to his mind like trump, Carson tried to leave open a nuanced view for the sense of pragmatism. This endorsement of trump is the ultimate expression of that pragmatism and it's pretty sickening to see.

If Carson is admitting to this bribe, there's no telling what he promised Christie.

"... to clarify, Carson said he meant he'd prefer to have backed one of the other candidate"

Neither of the above are direct quotes but rather propaganda.

Acceptable: "I would like your support. Please consider how you can best help a Trump Administration."

Unacceptable: "In exchange for your endorsement, if elected, I will name you to this position."

Lots of gray in between the two. If it's the first, then I think it's probably okay, but not so much if it's the second. At the same time, I don't think anyone should believe for a second that Hillary hasn't already done this for the entire cabinet and everyone on down.

I agree. I really liked him, too. This whole race really got his mind screwed up. All those "advisers" speaking in his ear confused him. He lost who he was.

I hope he can take a little time off and reflect as to what has really happened to him. I never agreed with all of his political positions, but he used to be incredibly thoughtful and considerate.

With trump in the White House, many elites will benefit by kissing his ring. As usual, US citizens will be left in the mud and little brown people overseas will be bombed.

Well, that was fast.

On Friday, retired neurosurgeon and recent Republican presidential also-ran Ben Carson endorsed his party’s frontrunner, Donald Trump. And on Tuesday, he told conservative online site NewsMax TV that Trump was never

“The reason I’m for Trump is because I’m a big picture guy,” Carson said on”The Steve Malzberg Show,” rationalizing his endorsement of a man who recently compared him to a child molester.

Watch the video from OP till the end. This guy just talks too much. He has no place in politics. He talks about Trump giving ammo to progressives by offering to pay the legal expenses for the sucker punch guy and then immediately after that spills the beans about what went on between him and Donald. The progressives waste no time in running with it. With friends like these who needs enemies?

‘SNL’ Finds Unexpected Use for Trump Steak in Ben Carson Endorsement Sketch.

This week’s “SNL” episode lampooned Ben Carson’s endorsement of Republican presidential front-runner, Donald Trump and managed to work a Trump Steak into the skit.

“Yes, Donald and I are very different. We’re like night and day, ebony and orangey,”

Ben Carson Attempts to Rationalize His Trump Endorsement: “We’re Only Looking at Four Years”

Somehow, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is even worse at endorsing people to run for president than he is at running for president himself.
The former candidate, who raised eyebrows last week by throwing his support behind Donald Trump,
is evidently struggling to maintain his enthusiasm for the man who once compared to a child molester.

“The way I look at it, even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president . . .

When asked what Trump had promised him for his support, Carson said that they were discussing his involvement in some sort of “advisory capacity”
in a Trump administration. “I’m not going to reveal any details about it right now because all of this is still very liquid,” he said.

Ben Carson: Even if Trump's a bad president, it'll only be 4 years
Ben Carson said on Monday that even if Donald Trump turned out to be a lousy president, he’ll only be in office for four years.

We haven't hammered out all the details" Carson said when pressed on whether he had been promised a Cabinet post,
"I'm not going to reveal any details"
