Capitol Hill Blue rant against Dr. Paul

I merged the two threads on the same article.

Question- how can this be a "Ponzi scheme"?

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Ponzi scheme

Investment scam by which early investors are paid off from the contributions of later ones, 1957, in ref. to Charles Ponzi, who perpetrated such a scam in U.S., 1919-20.

I guess children are the earliest investors

The guy impressed me when I saw that he refused to use student loans to put his kids through college. I mean, who else doesn't use student loans?

I think he's a Democrat worried because Paul's message seems to be resonating in the Democratic crowd.

First they ignore you. CHECK.

Then they laugh at you. CHECK.

What's next, people? :D

We knew they'd start attacking. They've been trying to just do the ignore thing straight through to the end because RP is so clean that it's damn near impossible to find things to use in their typical smear campaigns.

This piece smells like desperation on the part of the media to me.

:D

GREAT SIGN!!!!

Because after the fight ....

WE WIN!!!!!! :D :D :D

That's frikkin' right, Doodahs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let them throw their best! :D :D :D

NO, and in fairness he doesn't imply that it is. He does seem to imply that it is not ethical, and he might have a point.

But I'm not hung up on it. If people don't like it, then they shouldn't contribute.

I don't see why it's unethical. If they are hired to do a job and they do it, why shouldn't they be paid? Also, seems to me that you can in most cases trust your family more than someone else. Remember the Dondero dude? :)

I have no problem with this whatsoever. Now, if he was paying them for a job they didn't do, that would be another thing entirely. That however does not seem to be the case.

He should have mentioned that all this was over a timespan of 5 years. What does that average out to?

As long as Ron Paul isn't paying his family more than he would pay another person for the same services, he's fine in the integrity department.

Contract with Fred's son who took in more money than the campaign did from the PAC. It was something over a million bucks, right?

That article is a freakin joke. "Relative Problem For Congress"? Since when does Ron Paul, Tom Foley, and Dan Burton make up Congress. And what has RP done that is so egregious that he warrants the bulk of the article. This is a piece of trash. Nothing else.

What a joke; they rant on places that do not allow comments, because they know they will get torn apart. Losers.

Actually, I found a spot where people can comment in general, though I'm not sure we'd be well served to waste our time there:

Election issues:

The guy who started this thread is a fan of his, but calls him on his BS (somewhat):

If you choose to comment, I'd suggest laughter and "is that all ya got?" and "this smells like desperation" and other things that mock the author rather than attempts to defend, because if you try to defend Dr. Paul it somehow lends credence to the attack, you know?

But that's just my personal take on it.

:)

who think Ron Paul is a political messiah

I don't see too many other options to save us from our government.

Yeah and he flies first class too.

How many times was Ron elected? Sounds like he’s getting his moneys worth.

I think the Capitol Hill Blue worldview assumes that all politicians are corrupt, and there are no exceptions. For the most part, this will be more correct than not.

But people with this assumption have a problem with Ron Paul, because they just can't believe that there could be a politician in Congress that's not corrupt.

They're really reaching hard to find something that infringes Ron Paul's integrity.

Does anyone have an email address for this Doug Thompson guy?

I don't want to register for his site to comment, because that just makes it look like his site has more users.

The use of "diverted" is an interesting word choice. I've been involved in several campaigns, and family members ALWAYS end up working for them. I thought it was normal to pay employees?

This is a pretty impressive bit of vitriol. Minimum content, maximum angry writing.

Democrats are scared of Ron Paul winning the primary. They know their candidates can't win against him.
