Why do I get the feeling that Candace will come out eventually and say that no foreign government is involved in Kirk's assassination?

I've only seen clips, haven't watched the entire segment.

But when Candace was referring to the "they're going to kill me" exchange, she wasn't exactly stuttering, but it seemed like she was conscious of the fact that she was now essentially validating the spin from Erika/TPUSA.
