Can We Start Thinking Realistically Now?

In my opinion, part of the problem is that the ads coming from the campaign look like something out of the 70s. The grassroots ads from YouTube are WAY better. Also Dr Paul needs to start getting aggressive out there and quit being the nice guy. Everyone is pushing this "change" platform on the campaign. Dr Paul is the real change people are craving but he needs to quit talking simply about the monetary policy and foreign policy and start talking about the r3VOLution in ads to pull this out. Just my 2 cents.

Here here. This is Paul's last shot at the presidency, and will undoubtedly be his last term in the Congress. Paul's legacy that he can leave will be for setting up the liberty revolution for the coming years, even if he can't win it all in 2008.

So much for this piece of troll butt thread

People get out there and raise hell for your countrymen who got ripped off in NH

Fight for your republic. Live free or die

Paulites supposedly will crawl over broken glass, through blizzards, etc. to vote for Paul. But as soon as there some disappointing election results in two states, some are ready to throw in the towel.

Is the job harder? -- Yes. Does the campaign need to make changes? Yes. But I'm certainly not ready to quit and I hope you aren't either.

Whatever happens, this campaign is the foundation for the next stage in the fight to take back our government. The stronger the foundation, the greater the chances of long-tern success.

Steve Dasbach, former chair of the Libertarian Party. Do you agree that Ron should run as a Libertarian if he doesn't get the nomination?

You understand the need for growing a political party to compete with the two old parties. I have very little confidence in the Republicans, many have libertarian sympathies and could be pursuaded to join the LP if there are enough people to ensure it isn't ignored.

I also strongly think every congressional district needs a LP house candidate, plus Senate, governor, etc. That way the whole country is covered with multiple candidates, each campaigning with the purpose of growing the party, attracting new supporters.

The LP has really gotten on the right track in the past few years. Texas is churning out record numbers of candidates. If you follow their media, they've been getting picked up more and more. Bob Barr, former GOP congressman, is now on the board of directors.

If you think of a third party, you need to think of the LP. They out-raised all other national third parties combined for 2007, and will out-file all of them in 2008. They realize it's a long road to travel, but they are committed to going the distance, and welcome anybody else who wants to join them.

You can either pack up and go home with your tail between your legs because the Republican establish kept Paul off the ticket, or you can roll up your sleeves and get in the game for the long haul.

1) if you could possibly consider running for Congress with a Ron Paul Republican platform, you should DO IT regardless of Ron's presidential outcome.
2) This does not mean that anyone should give up helping RP.
3) Remember that there's a reason people call us a "Revolution" or a "movement", not a campaign. This push for our liberties back is only just starting. REAL success would be to see Ron's solitary "Nay"s in Congress joined by a handful of other voices. REAL victory would be winning some seats back for principled, constitutional voices.

I have a close relative who is a significant politician in Canada. He and I have been discussing the Prez 08 race for the last two weeks or so. He said to me, "in the end, your generation is going to have to take back the government, and undo all the damage my generation did. In the last 30 years, we royally screwed the balance of power between government and citizen. I hope you guys learn how to fight hard to win that power back."

So get your ass into a congressional race, and WIN THAT POWER BACK!

Both Iowa and New Hampshire have proven one thing.

The polls are correct.

I repeat. The polls are correct.

If the polls are correct, why do they continue to miss every candidate EXCEPT for Paul? Why is Paul the only candidate they can call on the nose? Is he just easier to poll than anyone else? Tell me why. Aren't you just the least bit curious?

The measure of a man (or woman) is known when things get desperate.

Regardless of these caucuses, the economy is headed for the most severe recession in U.S. history. Ron Paul is still America's only hope.

We can't give up. We have to be resolute.

But it would be foolish to keep on doing what hasn't worked and expect future outcomes to be different.

We have to adapt. We have to improve. We cannot falter now.

What we MUST do now to WIN:

1.) Change has to happen within castle Ron Paul (the official RP campaign structure). It has to be more open and responsive. We have a good 'king', a bad 'general' (the campaign manager), and a 'mob', rather than an organized 'militia'.

2.) The RP campaign badly needs a 'skunkworks' team. The best and the brightest amongst ardent RP supporters, a strategic thinktank that RP can rely upon for advice, solutions and more importantly a team that knows how to execute on the plans.

3.) Ron Paul must designate trusted official lieutenants in every state. Orators and debaters who are 100% immersed, knowledgeable and living Dr. Paul's message. Unfortunately they have to look good on TV and have to be comfortable and confidence inpiring. They have to be leaders too. Directives from them are understood to be directives coming from Ron Paul himself. They can be nameless, just Ron Paul (state name). They'll get RP's message across better that way, and create more intrigue and curiosity.

4.) Dr. Paul has to convene a grassroots Superforum, and gather all of these lieutenants (and anyone willing to attend), to air and act upon issues.

5.) The offical RP campaign website must provided updates and information almost in real time. Sadly forums such as this one have more up-to-the minute information than the official website.

The offical RP site is a day and a half late to release information - too late to be of any use. Too much speculation has occurred. Just checked. The front page still says "As NH is headed for the polls...".

6.) We MUST immediately protect the donation base by communicating to RP supporters the comprehensive strategy - what the changes are, why and how we can still win this. We need a 'post-NH rallying the troops message' NOW, not later.

7.) We MUST refine and repackage the message (ALL of it) towards the positive. For example we should say "We will take care of everyone who relies upon Medicare, and make sure that money for your Medicare does not go to the Wars." Formalize these messages and print it out so that everyone can repeat it correctly.

8.) We are taking a beating. We have to change our stance and take the offensive.

9.) Finally we have to lead by example. True Ron Paul revolutionaries must move to the state where Ron Paul has won the most votes, institute Libertarian changes as comprehensively as we can, hopefully make it prosperous while all other states flounder. No other message will help in the long term.

We can't expect Dr. Paul to know how to manage a nationwide organization well.
That is not his 'core expertise'.

When you have to fight to survive, that is when you are most alive. We are all fighting for our survival. That is why we Ron Paul supporters are so passionate.

Dr. Paul has opened my eyes to what is wrong with the world and how to fix it.
I am not giving up. I have been changed by the Ron Paul revolution. We are fighting for much, much more than just Republicans and Democrats votes. We are fighting against chaos and anarchy. We are fighting against enslavement.

Ron Paul's vision for our country has to live within you, within all of us - without DOUBT. Only then will it be reality. Hang on! Don't give up! There are 47 more states. It isn't over.

Couldnt agree more. All of your points seem valid to me. Thanks for taking the time to write all of that.

I'm not sure what you're talking about? Just about every poll said Ron Paul would come in a close 5th. They were correct about every place in front of paul too. The only surprise was Hillary winning NH and there are reports that it just so happens Obama won every county with a hand count and Hillary won every county with diebold counting almost by the same margins. It's like the machines simply switched the names around. But I don't think there was such a difference with Paul.

The polls were pretty accurate for the most part. And like I said above unlike Hillary we do not have enough 2nd choice support to truly swing around too much.
