Can we get 1% higher than McCain?

I haven't run the numbers, but, technically, if McCain gets 13.4% and Paul gets 13.6%, they should be reported as 13% and 14% respectively. It doesn't really need to be a full 1% spread. I feel silly even mentioning it, but you're right about the way it would be reported, as a "statistical tie." However, when the difference between 1st and 2nd place is only 1 vote, that is never called a "tie." Why should a 200 vote difference (or less) between 2nd and 3rd be called a "tie"?

You're right on this for any OTHER candidate, but the MSM is at war with the RP campaign so don't expect them to represent the truth.

When total votes are in, that will be somewhere around 47,000
If that was the case, then 1% would be 470.

To go ahead of McCain, we need to beat him by 1% of the total votes.

McCain is at 12.75% and Paul at 13.72%, according to NVGOP's latest totals. At this point, 1% of the vote = ~442 votes.
