This is mainly out of curiosity. Is there a way to receive gold anonymously? I'm just sitting here bored at work, and was trying to put together a way.

I could go down to the local campus, and open an ebay account. I could use public computers when logging in to buy gold or silver. I could then mail him a money order to pay for it. But what about getting it mailed to me? Is there any way that you guys can think of to receive gold without anyone knowing you have it?

I was just sitting here and pretending in my mind... that, what if the government is tracking all gold/silver purchases so that they could steal it from us when the economy takes a crap. And trying to come up with ways to get it anonymously.

Coin shops. Most of the shops around my house ONLY take cash. No sort of tracking what-so-ever. So just find a local coin shop. Most all sell bullion.

Step 1. Go to a coin show or flea market
Step 2. Pay cash for gold
Step 3. Put gold in your pocket
Step 4. Walk away
Step 5. Keep your mouth shut

If you must have a "secret" method to doing it. Submit a change of address form for "Another Fake Name" you can use "Nomen Nescio" with my permission (after you look up the meaning of that name on Google by typing: meaning Nomen Nescio). Make that change of address for a house next door. This way there is limited records of your transaction.

Or use the same name and ship it to a friends house that will sign for it.

1. Subscribe to a remailing service in a foreign country with strict privacy laws
2. Order through eBay as you said, or from a vendor willing to ship overseas
3. Have them ship to the remailing service
4. Have the remailing service ship the package to you
5. Close the remailing service account

However, before doing something like this, ask yourself: are you at higher risk of the package being lost or stolen, or of the government forcibly confiscating it at some later date? Does the extra cost really worth mitigation of that risk? Even in 1933, when gold ownership was made illegal, people were asked to surrender it voluntarily. No one came to your house to search for it... If it was me, I would never allow a package to go to some third party. I would insist on a tracking number with a signature-only release, and direct delivery. Better yet, pick it up in person.

Yes. How much do you want? $1500 an oz and I won't tell anyone I sold it to you:)

Ok, some of these schemes are just friggin stupid. Let's explore a few scenarios here.

You ship it to a vacant house under a fake name and either it gets lost in the mail or someone picks it up and takes it before you get to it. Then what do you do? Can you file an insurance claim under the fake name without ID or are you just S.O.L?

You ship it to a "friend" who will sign for it for you. Now the government knows your "friend" has gold and if they decide to outlaw gold again and go to him he rats you out or more likely he gets suspicious of what your shipping to him and finds your gold and takes it and tells you it never showed up. What's your legal recourse? Can you claim he stole it since you were dumb enough to ship your gold to him in a box with his name? He can say it was just a gift.

You use an out of country forwarding service to have it shipped to you. You're aware the government can and does open mail coming from international addresses and checks their contents. It is legal for them to do so. Then they know you're buying gold and trying to hide it which makes them suspicious of you.

Why don't you bury all of your gold in a chest in the back yard and paint a big X on the ground and leave treasure maps everywhere too while you're at it. People are a 1000x more likely to notice and or suspect people acting weird than someone just going about their business.

Quit coming up with hare brained schemes and just buy it anonymously, pay cash, and keep your mouth shut. Doing all this stupid crap is more likely to get you noticed than just paying cash in an unassuming manner and walking away.
