Just read he has already raised over 300 million for his reelection campaign (wander from who), he has a movie coming out narrated by tom hanks..the economy appears to be improving (appears). Realistically, barring some sort of disaster I do not see how he could be beaten.

Ron would have a shot if the media were not so biased but they are. As for Romney he cant even debate him on any of the real issues as hes got the same donors, same foreign policy (only more bullish), same views on personal freedom. Am I wrong or is there an air of inevitibility about this whole thing?

Romney only stands a small chance if he has a Paul at the bottom of the ticket.

Santorum - not a chance.

Newt - not a chance.

Paul would be highly competitive.

The chances of Obama being kicked out of office don't look great, but what difference does it make if Paul isn't the nominee anyway?

highly competitive? Based off of what?

Polls. He does best with independents. He also has an army of volunteers Sheldon Adelson could never buy.

Ron's favorables with independents are through the roof compared to Romney and Obama.

Paul would not beat Obama.

Look at what happened when Goldwater ran against Johnson.

Obama would promise free handouts.

Paul would promise truth.

Handouts > Truth.

Now, I will give you that Ron would do better than any of the other candidates.

He could take away the anti-war left.

He does do well with independents.

Obama is beatable because Romney does well, relatively speaking, on the coasts and among indys. Obama's major support is being exclusively derived from hispanics, blacks & upper class college graduates from metropolitan areas, so it's not like he's a juggernaut. Romney has to find a way to augment & subsequently mobilize the anti-Obama vote in such a manner that it carries him in certain battleground states.

If Paul somehow won the nomination, it would be one of the biggest political underdog stories in the history of this country, and it would generate a hell of a lot of momentum, but it would still be hard to beat Obama. He has EVERYTHING in his corner. I'm convinced that the reason he continues to pull strings for the RIAA and MPAA to step up anti-piracy enforcement is because he has a deal with them to paint him in a positive light no matter what he does. Well, that and more power to spy on US citizen's internet use.

The media is going to go nuclear on Romney as soon as he's nominated. I actually feel abit sorry for him because the same grisly fate would have awaited Paul.
