Can anyone say 3rd party.

The Republican Party is no longer Conservative, it is NEO Conservative. We have been trying to bring a party back together that doesn't want to be brought back together. We do NOT fit in. RP, the real Republican, doesn't fit in with this bunch.

I'm not a defeatist- I do think we should wait til after Super Tuesday. We need the coverage, the debates, etc. and we also need to keep showing the sheeple how messed up media coverage is! They need to shake their faith in their pundits! And every debate Paul is in is another debate where the "front runners" can showcase their idiocy next to him. :D

The best plan, if we do 3rd party, is to hold a press conference IMMEDIATELY after the neocons decide to attack Iran or the economy crumbles. Not now so let's keep trucking, keep spreading the Revolution.

You wait this out until the end. If by May we have nothing to leverage at the Convention, Paul should pick up the Libertarian ticket, imo.

He won't win, but I'm so pissed at the Republican establishment right now, I want them to see clearly why they need our support if they want to win. No one will notice our influence if the Dems narrowly win; but if RP pulls in even 5% and the Dems win, the GOP knows why they lost.

Third Party is the ONLY WAY to take back our country.

A third party run is an exercise in futility.

Yes, if people aren't looking at the long term goal. Too many third party candidates campaign like they will win now. Wrong approach, use the campaigns to build the third party so that in future elections they will win.

With 3 candidates, all you need is 34% of the vote, not 51%. Nobody ever looks at it that way.

Look for whatever reason this thing isn't going like we thought. I think we have to look reality right in the face. People are Sheeple. The masses don't understand what we are about. They can't. Until they wake up, they will never see the truth.

I think Ron Needs to break away right now. He needs to have a press conference, and shred his Republican membership card. If he went 3rd party right now he would get huge buzz from it, and we could continue this campaign. He needs to get in before Bloomburg.

I can't vote come November for any of these establishment Republicans and Dems. I've voting for Ron Paul in November!!!

I think the only hope here would be a "Coalition" of 3rd parties. Indpt American, Constitution and Libertarian all under one umbrella.

Talking of a third party bid is not a defeatist answer. In fact, you're a moron if you haven't considered it yet. "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst" is usually the best approach to most things. Let's hope for the best out of Ron Paul up until Super Tuesday, but let's not forget about other avenues to start exploring.

The 3rd Party Debate:

Winning v. Liberty
-
I said this before in my "Hope is not lost!" post: Paulites have to decide what's more important to them, winning the election or continuing the liberty revolution. Look, there are several factors that prevent libertarians like Paul from winning. Society is just waking up to realizing that more freedom equals more happiness. But it's such a new concept, you can't fully expect people to accept it over night. It's nothing you can control, but it's something you can help foster. The liberty movement began again with Ron Paul's candidacy, but it's up to you to decide whether or not it ends with him. Sure, Ron Paul will have much harder of a chance getting elected as a third party candidate, but the benefits are there, and would you rather him run as a third party, or not get to vote for him at all if he fails to get (and this appears to be more certain) the GOP nomination. Face it, Paul is not a mainstream republican and that's what the GOP has become: a bastion of neoconservative hacks who'll stop and nothing to keep Paul away.

Benefits of a Third Party Run
-
Third parties play an important role in modern politics because they act as a protest to the two main parties. They often call attention to many of the issues that are ignored by the power-hungry two-party system, and they put pressure to get those issues addressed by slowing sapping power from the party they protest. Read all about it in this short article: http://www.ballot-access.org/winger/wwbbo.html. Paul running as a Libertarian (again) could put the GOP out of power and show them that libertarians can't and won't be ignored. This, my friends, is one of the best methods of achieving our end goal: more liberty in America. This is what could spark the liberty revolution we all want.

Drawbacks -
It's going to be harder for Paul as a third party candidate, but I look at it as do you want something, or do you want nothing. But you can't look at the history of third parties from the eyes of Paul, because Paul has the media recognition and the funds to be the most successful third party candidate since Perot. The is stronger than it has been in years, and has a lot of good things going for it: http://www.lp.org/media/article_556.shtml

Final Word:
If Paul tries to fight it out in the GOP, it's not going to work out and he's going to miss his chance to leave a legacy for liberty. Paul has a chance to make history with a third party bid. If Paul's candidacy ends with Super Tuesday, and nothing else happens, the world will not have changed at all. Sure, people will have heard his ideas, but unless all the Paul supporters find a new home with a third party (the GOP clearly wants nothing to do with pro-liberty activists), then it will be like he never ran in the first place.

A third party bid would send a message to the GOP that they would never forget, and it would expose America to the power of the message of liberty.

I want Paul to succeed as much as any of us on here, but I want more liberty than anything else, and I'm not afraid to talk about alternatives to achieving this goal. The question that will stand is what is more important: winning elections, or winning freedom? If it's the first, then go home. If it's the second, then I welcome you to the cause of liberty. It's a long, arduous fight that may take a lifetime and more...but it's worth every single second that you give.

With 3 candidates, all you need is 34% of the vote, not 51%. Nobody ever looks at it that way.

Consider that from the other side's perspective............

The powers that be want to continue the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton NWO agenda.
It's obvious to alot of people that the GOP would really prefer you vote for Hillary,
but as a back-up they will let you have any McHickaRomney you might choose.
As it sits, they really don't care which, but just prefer you go with Clinton.

While VERY risky, a 3rd party run would put the GOP over a barrel, so to speak.
All they have to do now, in a 2 way race, is valiantly lose by a decent margin
to save face and get on with the program.
Dealing with a 3rd party "wild card" makes the ruse that much more of a
challenge for the GOP establishment.
The focus then goes from trying to look good, but not quite as good as
Hillary, to trying to overshadow a #3 Party, and STILL not look better than Hillary!
Amidst all the confusion, it also makes it easier for the Dems to slide down
Pennsylvania Ave. with ONLY 34% of the votes.
The powers that be might actually LIKE the idea of a 3rd party!
The only drawback to the establishment is someone might actually listen to
what the 3rd Party has to say.
So far, they've been fairly successful at preventing that..................

The ONLY viable 3rd party run would involve 11th hour ralleying of ALL independents,
ALL Constitutionalists, ALL Libertarians, etc.
(Consolidated Independent Party)
This would be GREAT if and when it comes time to re-elect RP for a second term!

If you just want to see the GOP take a bashing and don't care if ClintonII
continues the present agenda, then just add some more confusion.

If you want Ron Paul to win, then don't give up that easy.......

3rd Party=Last resort

Anyone consider how much easier it would be to "rig" the voting when you have
3 candidates to shuffle from?
Right off the bat the votes are scattered over 3 instead of divided between 2.
